3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, from Walt’s, Homewood, IL Pours a bright, straw color with no haze. Big head with good lacing. Taste is tangy, a bit tart. Nice hop bill tends to the West Coast stuff, but more peppery and citrusy than bitter (Cascade?). Bitterness only appears in aftertaste. A well-tuned western American wheat beer.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
DATE: 27 August 2016... OCCASION: a beer for relaxation and a thought that Dad continues to recover in the hospital... GLASSWARE: Penn State weizen.... pours a clear, streaming golden body with clumpy, chunky head that mellows to a half-finger rather swiftly.... lacing is cumulus clouds sporadically finger-painted.... heavy cracker pervades, with the expected wheat aspects like bubblegum, funk and candy fighting for depth... palate is textured, with the throat bubbly but soft and drinkable... lemon and orange citrus hint at, surprisingly, creamsicle, while the cracker creates a memorable flavor profile... carrots and other vegetable flavors also... yeasts do not develop much nuance outside of popcorn, although the finish is clean and refreshing... this one is surprising, as I have enjoyed most of what Anchor has offered.... this is not one I would seek out again, with its curious distinctions and uneven flavors... much better wheat ales out there...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from Wholefoods, Kensington, London. A golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Yeasty, wheaty, fruity aroma. Tastes much the same, yeasty, wheaty, fruity, some lemon. Not a great deal happening with this one, nice enough on a hot summers day I’d guess.
