COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anchor Summer is the first American wheat beer in modern times. Our first brew of this light and refreshing beer was in the summer of 1984.

Anchor Summer is an all-malt beer, and over 50% of its malt comes from malted wheat. It is fermented with a Triticum aestivum, AKA wheat traditional top-fermenting "ale" yeast because we prefer the clean flavors developed by this yeast. We believe that this style best celebrates the refreshingly light flavor of malted wheat. You may notice that the head on this beer is unusually abundant, with a consistency similar to whipped egg whites. This is due to protein contributed by the wheat.

The brewers at Anchor are proud to have revived not only rich hearty dark beers, but also this light crisp style of a modern American wheat beer.

Wheat malt contributes to an unusual lightness and dryness to the palate, and this—combined with the distinctive flavor of the wheat—makes for a perfect thirst-quenching beverage. It is the ideal drink for beer lovers who appreciate tradition and character in their beer, but also seek a lighter, refreshing style, perfect for warm weather.

12oz can from Kroger in Grandview ("Anchor Summer Wheat"). Amber pour with big fluffy white head. . Aroma of light grain and citrus. Tastes are sweet wheat, little earthy. Not a lot going on. Nice creamy medium palate. 6.6

Can as Anchor Summer Wheat. Very sharp and clean straw blonde pour with two fingers of tight white head. Nose is bready with some grassy notes and an earthy malt profile. A light buttery/cooked peach sweetness in the nose and flavor. Bready with notes of wet hay and grass. Light bodied and soft on the finish.

In a clear and glistening golden color was poured into your cup Shaker. Its color is interesting for a wheat beer. White Cream little training and low durability. Form discrete bonds in the glass wall along the tasting. Its aroma is citrus with grassy notes, cereals, some malt, fresh hops, rye bread, corn flakes, some fruit, but is of poor tenacity and not stand out. How is a dedicated beer for the summer its drinkability is remarkable in such a slight body, velvety and gently aerated. Taste is clearly Hoppy bitter and spicy with a small base supported by the malt, and some fruits like cherries, raspberries. The finish is a bittersweet watery and reasonable fermentation touch the aftertaste, but still well watered. Honestly I can not really praise this beer for my evaluation and personal taste becomes common and even dull to warm up a bit more in the cup. Should work just fine one afternoon or warm summer night.

From notes. Found this in my long lost notebook. Enjoyed on September 25. The pour is a dark golden color with a thin white head and no real lacing to be found. The aroma is a bit different for a wheat. It’s got a little bit of a strange sharp booze character to it to go along with the wheat and a strong malt. The flavor is a bit more bitter. I’m not a fan of this. It’s got a strange wheat thing going on with a little bit of an awkward fruit. There isn’t much of a mouth feel, really watery, and the aftertaste is metallic and odd. Not a fan

355ml bottle into glass. Faint wheat nose, some sweetness. Slightly cloudy golden beer with solid two finger head. Good steady carbonation. Watery body with initial metallic hops followed by a short burst of bubblegum sweetness. Unusual attempt at a lager precursor. Inoffensive.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. So the missus decided to drink this before I came over and said it was amazing. Exact words. Now she isn’t the most prolific beer drinker but she generally can taste a quality beer from a half assed effort. I decided to bring over more of these the next time I went around. Well turns out I didn’t dig it anywhere near as much as her. Guess I don’t really drink a great deal of Summer Ales but it didn’t do anything for me. She, however, continues to enjoy it

Barwa złocista, piwo jest lekko mętne. Ładna, intensywna, drobno-pęcherzykowa piana, pozostaje obrączką do końca picia.
