12 oz bottle from Anchor Craft Originals Pack from Safeway Salinas. Nose is bigtime ripe bananas with hints of Boudin’s French bread right off of Fisherman’s Wharf and some very light clove. Clear orange tinged yellow with a medium, heavy lacing pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some contrasting banana sweetness.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack. The aroma has the typical metallic Anchor house character. Some floral notes, and a little pepper is also there. Transparent golden body with a small, white head present. Kristalweizen? Starts a little metallic and slightly astringent. Becomes a little spicy in the middle, before a bit of an herbal finish. A really interesting beer, as there isn’t much wheat character in this at all. Seems a bit more like their regular Anchor Steam than anything else.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Part of mixed case. Clear honey color with thin white head. Malt and corn in the nose. Crisp hop bite up front and finishes with a light malty profile. A hint of spiciness livens this up. This would be perfect at a summer BBQ for sure.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
According to the insert that comes with the mix pack this is a "modern interpretation of [their] first what beer recipe, which would later be released as [their] seasonal, Anchor Summer Beer."
Basically, if you are looking for more ratings for this beer just look up their summer beer. It’s pretty boring, not bad though. Pretty light mouthfeel and taste for a wheat beer, more like a pilsner really. Kind of bitter, but what little aroma it has is nice enough. Buy the mixer, but not for this beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted from sloped 12oz brown bottle into a nonic glass. This is their newly reintroduced, stronger ABV wheat beer. It poured a slightly hazy golden colour with deep, fluffy white foam. Aromas of grain, French bread, faint flowery hops, pepper, clove. Flavour was smooth and slightly bready, some odd cidery notes. Light-medium body, average carbonation, faint mineral water aspects in the mouthfeel, dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Clear, deep gold, with medium head and great persistence. Big estery lift, banana, yeast. Subtle malt and funky yeast lees. Dry, slightly sour and medium bitterness. Medium weight and length. Clean palate. Loads of estery banana flavors. High Carbonation probably giving the acidic to sour feel.
Nice and refreshing.
