It is light golden color with decent head formation and a very crisp, wheaty nose.

My kingdom for some flavor! Yeah, it’s got a pretty head. But it was basically water to my taste buds--there might have been a hint of malt on the palate, but it was too faint to distinguish.

Bottle. Pours clear golden. Stiff white head. Not much of a nose. Taste is slightly sweet, not much wheat. Not much happening here.

This review is going from memory. I recall having this brew back around 1988. It was probably the first wheat beer I had tried. I do remember it having quite a distinct spicy, clove-like flavor, much like a Bavarian Weizen. Judging from the recent reviews however, it seems these tasty qualities are lacking in the current release. I’d love to try it again, but it’s not available here in N. FL.

Sampled this quite a while ago and just getting to my review now. Pale light gold--clear--with a loose white head. A light grainy aroma with a hint of yellow citrus in the background. Very light body with good crispness, soft hops and wheat malt flavor characteristics.

Pours a golden color with a thick white head. Wheat, yeast, clove and malt aroma. Wheat, yeast, bubblegum and malt flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Wheat finish.

Poured a pale straw color with a foamy, bright white head that shrunk to a thin sheet in moments. The nose was sweet and musty with caramel, wheat, rice and corn. The taste started with an wheaty/oakiness followed by a welcome sweetness that tried to balance out the unpleasant, astringent-esque, wooddiness. The end had a dark tasting bitterness and was followed by a mustiness that seemed to last from beginning to end. The mouthfeel was light and the CO2 was a little coarse. Although light and drinkable, I had no desire to try this again. A disappointing offering from Anchor. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Part of a 12-pack mix purchased in October 2013, so I think it is unretired. Okay and drinkable brew, but nothing interesting.

Not a terribly bad beer. A summer wheat beer. Not much to say about it, but it sure isn’t a bad one. Give it a try! Wheaty.

This is certainly a unique rendition of an american wheat, but not a satisfying one. The flavor is bland with mild sweetness and no complexity. Bitter hops, though not strong, dominate the palate and little else is detectable. It pours crystal clear and copper/yellow with a white head. Oddly it smells pretty good but fails to translate into flavor. I expect better from Anchor.

Back from retirement and bigger and seemingly better than the first rendition, this is a nice clean, crisp very wheat forward beer that - while not outstanding - is quite good. Welcome back.
