From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a bright and clear straw yellow with a thick and frothy head. Nose is bland, dominated by wheat. Taste is light bodied, mostly sweet. Finishes carbonated and sharp. Ok beer, see what they are doing but not my style.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted from sloped 12oz brown bottle into a nonic glass. This is their older, weaker ABV wheat beer. It poured a slightly hazy golden colour with deep, fluffy white foam. Aromas of grain, French bread, faint flowery hops, pepper, clove. Flavour was smooth and slightly bready, some odd cidery notes. Light body, average carbonation, thin and watery mouthfeel, dry finish. It’s true this was crisp and refreshing, but not sure why Anchor bothered with such a weak and bland brew.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pulled out of a mix Anchor 12-pack. It’s back.
Great finger and half of head on a clear light straw colored body.
The aroma is bold for a wheat beer. Pine and mild banana and pear.
The taste is mildly lemon bitter with softer wheat notes middle to end.
Smooth and soft texture with moderate carbonation.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Back from retirement and bigger and seemingly better than the first rendition, this is a nice clean, crisp very wheat forward beer that - while not outstanding - is quite good. Welcome back.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is wheat and apple. Appearance is crystal clear apricot with small off white head that dissipates quickly. Taste is wheat forward, light apple and lemon tartness. Light hop bitterness. Palate medium light, smooth and very crisp. Light fruit flavors linger with mild noble hop bitterness. Overall an excellent wheat beer. Clean and crisp with pleasant subdued fruit flavors.
Flyer that came with the pack says that this is a modern interpretation of the original wheat. I don’t think this beer is on ratebeer yet and we are rating the retired wheat beer. Flyer says this beer is 5.6%, much bigger than the original.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Part of a 12-pack mix purchased in October 2013, so I think it is unretired. Okay and drinkable brew, but nothing interesting.
