COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our California Lager is also a single-hop beer, using only fresh, whole Cluster hops, all descended from an old line originally grown in California. Cluster has a long history as a “dual-purpose hop” for both bittering and aroma, which creates a flavor profile like no other. Brewed with San Francisco tap water, fresh from Yosemite, and fermented with our own special strain of lager yeast, our California Lager is kräusened in the traditional manner and lagered in our cellars. The result is a uniquely sessionable lager beer, which is maltier, hoppier, and somewhat stronger than modern American lagers. Its brilliant golden color, lingering effervescence, balanced depth of flavor, distinctive aroma, and smooth finish make this inaugural brew of the Anchor Brewing Zymaster™ Series a delightful tribute to the rich heritage and traditions of California brewing.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5077) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright golden color with an enormous creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty with biscuit, bread, and faint fruity and perfumey hops. The flavor was malty bread, honey, biscuit, faint fruity hops, moderate bitterness and a bit of perfume. Long finish with bitterness and perfume growing. Moderately full bodied. Meh.

White head. No aroma nd no impurities. Light golden color, clear. Malty and big fresh bitterness. Could be a bit to bitter for a big drinkabillity.

12-oz. Pours a lightly hazy medium dark amber with a loose creamy tan head. Toasty, dry-leaf-y nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast and dried autumn leaves on the mid palate. Very pleasant and drinkable. Soft finish.

12 oz bottle. (Chevy Chase Liquor) Washington, DC.
Clear slightly reddish golden colour with a small white head. Mild herbal hops and malt in the aroma. The flavour is mild hops, dryness and malt. Quite boring lager.

Bottle. Golden. Pale malty, some weak green hops, light grainy, lagery character. Soft bodied, slight metallic finish. Full pale malty, light herbals. Slight bitter finish. Feels rather ordinary, bulk. There’s quite a full flavour there though, so not total crap. But overall a bit boring.

Straight from bottle so no sight or nose notes. Rated mid and Will update when I can. Taste is sweet and malty with syrup notes.

Pours a nice dark honey yellow color and topped with a thick off-white foam that clings nicely to the side of the glass. Nice malty and lightly hopped aroma. Nicely balanced malts and bitterness on taste and finish.

Very nice balanced lager. Non-descript aroma with golden color and slightly off-white head. Nice clean finish with just a slight final note of bitterness. I enjoyed this thoroughly. Would buy again. 22oz bottle not identified as Zymaster Series.
