Dark mahognay brown with a moderate light tan swirl and edgeing.
Nose is tarte red berry fruits, light brett, spice, red berry sherbets, light acidic nostril twitch, liqourice, tarte blackberries.
Taste comprises musty berry soaked wood, red berry compote, dank must.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light acidity in the close tempered with sweeter red berry notes.

Corked 75 cl bottle @ home. Pours muddy brown with some sediment and an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are vinous, brett, oak, red berries, and caramel - with a tart finish.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenny. Pours golden brown with a foamy off-white head. The nose has a bit of funky sweat, aged berries, wood. Light-medium sweet flavor, further sweat, wood, mild acetic burn, ripe orange, berries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nice acetic burn on the finish, some funk, raspberry, old wood. Good and funky. Very nice.

Very good sour beer. Initially, at a colder temperature, the sourness is mild. It builds as it rises to room temperature. Not too palate erasing.

A steady pour into my large wine glass produces a fat-one-finger thick, darkish tan colored head. The beer is a dark, concentrated, amber-brown color that shows a rich, red stained, brilliantly clear, brown hue when held up to the light. The nose is tart, woody, a bit warming, and has a back-note of apricot. Lightly must, sort of like damp clay, with a softly phenolic funkiness, as well as a grape like note that reminds me a bit of a red wine.
Nicely tart, with a backdrop of firm oak structure and a solid, apricot like fruitiness that adds an intriguing note to the flavor. There is a touch of nuttiness to the finish as well as a touch of toasted, whole grain character. The finish has a spiciness to it, much of which is derived from the acidity; not really acetic, but maybe a touch of that, mostly a lactic bite, but some peppery oak character and perhaps some spiciness from the residual cognac character. The body is fairly light, making this quite quaffable for a beer of this strength, and there is a persistent carbonation that lingers on for a long time. Hints of vanillin, tart raisin notes, a touch of cherry, some lingering fig essence, and a tart, dark prune like character are all noticeable here. The oak adds a lingering woody flavor, some spice, a toast accentuating note, as well as a tannic structure and lingering, light astringency. The cognac adds a refined, fruity (I think the apricot comes from this somehow), lightly biting, interesting complexity to this beer.
This is quite a bit more tasty than I was expecting. This is quite nicely balanced between the sour, funky, barrel, and malt notes. The finish reminds me quite a bit of a restrainedly tannic, full bodied red wine at times, though this is clearly a sour beer. I took a long time to finish my first pour of this beer (more than an hour-and-a-half) , and it really held up well during the process

Wow. Just wow. Got fer my lady for her 27th. Drank at Prosperity. You couldn’t pair two more of my new favorite breweries, and then they pair up, and create this beautiful monster. I mean, this beauty had cognac dripped elements of sour barnyard funk blowing up at you, but politely for fuck’s sake! Oh by the way, this is rating................1600!!!!

75cl, Batch 1, new exclusive American collab. brew Anno 2014, with Brettanomyces, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sour brew, sour/woody/vinous and slightly fruity/alcoholic, yet not too heavy, very balanced, cloudy, small head, very good brew, yet expensive!
