Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Hazy golden pour with a big white head. Aroma is lime, salt, and huge bretty, yeasty aroma. Amazing pineapple, nice biscuit malt, and a light earthiness. A touch bitter on the palate, but really intense pineapple, tropical fruitiness. Lots of lime zest, subtle briny saltiness, yeast, and earthy hops and funk. Nice leathery dryness. Plenty of lemon zest, too. Solid bretted saison, a Michael James 3.2.

On tap at Saraveza’s Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival, pours a cloudy vibrant yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of prominent farmhouse notes, a little citrus zest, and some barnyard notes. Flavour brings lots of funky barnyard notes, a little leather, lightly tart / tangy tropical fruity notes and a musty earthiness to it. Lots of depth to this, with a lingering finish of lightly tart fruits. Delicious stuff.

750 ml bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, citrus, white wine, light oask and light barnyard funk. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, lemon, barnyard funk, white wine and light oak with a crisp dry lingering citrus finish.

Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Clear, light yellow appearance with a fluffy white head. Musty, straw/hay, a bit funky aroma. Tangy, straw, peppery, dry grainy, light citrusy flavor with a dry finish. Maybe my least favorite Anchorage offering.

>A Brett expressive saison masterpiece

[ Bottle ][ savnac ][ 750mL ][ Tired Hands Stemware ][ trade ][ 2/1/14 ]
>> Rating #7300 hooray. Pours a neon, glowing, full haze straw golden with higher but not out of control white foam. Nose is immensely expressive Brett C and friends pineapple, sourdough, fresh bakery medley. This has got to be the magnum opus of Anchorage’s quest for an expressive Brett derived house yeast character. Flavor is not too drained from the Brett that can leave a dusty, concrete flavor. Instead we get a clean and buoyant body full of fresh bread and pineapple. Palate is aerated, soft, not harsh and overly dry/drained. So good in every way.

Pour at Scott’s saison tasting, pour out of 750 mL bottle is hazy yellow with stark white head, aroma brought notes of bread, biscuit, yeasty bread, some spice, earthy, grass and lemon, touch of funk and a slight hint of lactic, slight pineapple as well. Taste is a mix of bready, grain, lemon, biscuit, some grass and earth with some lactic notes, nice fruity pineapple and pear, finishing fairly dry.

Bomber thanks to Mike, picked up in the Great White North. Pours a orange color with a large white head. The aroma is a big Brett funk and almost woody. A nice mellow flavor that showcases Brett with little spiciness, dry, funky at times, little bit of fruity hops. Enjoyable. Great nose.

Golden Straw in color, hazy with a thin white head. Big yeast and malt aroma. Light barrel aroma and flavors. Big fruit yeast and light pepper flavors. One big serious beer.

Strong and highly complex aroma with some barnyard, flowery, citrus and herbal aspects. As expected, the flavor is a bit more appealing than the aroma.
