> A vanilla cake saison

[ Bottle ][ savnac ][ 750mL ][ Tired Hands Stemware ][ trade ][ 2/1/14 ]
>> Pours a clear, light golden pour, medium white foam. Nose is fresh butterscotch dessert, vanilla cake, buttercream frosting. Taste is salty, bright, lime salt. Really nice overall but super different. Essentially a vanilla cake saison. Aerated, quenching palate.

Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Hazy bright golden orange pour with a white head. Crazy lime zest, white cake, and vanilla frosting. Nice bread, tart lemon, some yeast, and a touch of pineapple. Good grapefruit, too. Really pleasant tartness to the flavor. Lime zest, lemon juice, and plenty of pineapple. Subtle sweetness of cake batter and bread.

Bottle from "AKfaust". Colour...lightly hazy yellow straw with a medium white head. Nose...like a wit, but with more lemon zest and pith than I expected. Palate...lightly spritely, much like a vinho verde, with yeast, oak, lemon curd and kumquat. Kiwi skins are present as are pear skins and grape pips. This is a dry and semi funky ale and the citra helps bring it all together quite nicely!

Citrusy aroma with some oak and brett. Light considering what this is, very easy drinking

A light yellow beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, lemons, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, hay, and light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry finish, where the straw note lingers.

Good color with a nice white head. Moderate hoppy aroma dominated by the citrus hops. Heavy citrus flavors contradicts the hops. Ok to drink but an odd combination.

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. What a head! Gigantic, heavy lacing, dense and it won’t go away. The beer itself is light blurry and golden in color. The nose has subtle lime, some wheat and lots of brett. Really nice non extreme aroma. Soft prickling carbonation with a mild oily mouthfeel. It’s a bit wood-dry, lots of interesting and refreshing brett tones all the way here. A little bit of some acidic or even sour fruits before its ending in a lovely citra-hoppy and fruit finish. Refreshing and original. A great brew! 04.05.2013
