'14 bottle. The pour is a copper color. The aroma is a sweet barleywine, guessing the sweetness comes from the cognac barrel. The taste has a lot of carmel, boozy and smooth at the same time. A mouthful. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to the man Owen! Pours a luscious deep crimson/burgundy with virtually no head. Aroma pops right out along with the cap. Aroma consists of caramel, fudge, slight hint of oak, Cognac, honey, pancake syrup, molasses. Decadent invitation to what is hopefully a party in my mouth. Taste is thick pancake syrup, warming cognac, sweet molasses, sweet caramel, dates, slight vanilla and a bit of leather/oak tastes. Full, syrupy body and deceivingly drinkable for the ABV. It should be a slow-sipper but is so only for the strong willed.

Zlotta (1325) - Amstelveen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 21, 2016
Bottle at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen, bottled in December 2014. Slightly hazy, reddish amber with a tan to white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey and raisins. Sweet, malty and minimally fruity taste of caramel, brown sugar, molasses and raisins, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, warming and rather boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel. Nice, but rather unbalanced.

Joint bottle with Martinus. Obtained in a trade with sfr26. 650 ml. bottle / good sized sample @ RBBWG V. Pours quite murky dark amber brown pretty much no head, different appearance from what I expected. Overall, very different from what I expected. Nose is thick syrupy mocha, mocha, molasses, dates, molasses, sugar, huge amount of sweet dough, sugar. Taste is very thick dough, dates, sugar, dates, vanilla, warming, candy, huge amount of dough, bread, sugar, dates, molasses,… Thick dough body, dates. Interesting, sweet enough that you don’t notice the ABV. Interesting and nice even if not what expected. Really huge on the sweet dough.

Bottle. Batch 2. Appearance is light copper with minimal white head. Aroma is brown sugar, raisins, and booze. Taste is bold and big, very sweet, rasins, fig, syrupy mouthfeel. Surprisingly drinkable for such a big beer, very enjoyable but don’t know that I could drink much more than the 4 oz sample I had of this.

December 24, 2015 - bottle purchased during my trip to Seattle in March and opened as part of my dancin’ with the devil night. Batch 2, 2014 bottle. Dark brown pour with nice amount of head that lasted a while. Aroma was caramel, dark fruit and cognac. Taste was sweet and fruity, gets to a point of almost too sugary sweet, but then the cognac comes in to balance things out. One of the smoothest and best textured beers I have ever had.
