Bottle: Poured a black brown with light brown head. Aroma was sour and seemed bacteria filled. Very sour malt taste with dirty wood. Not a style I like and this fits the reason.

750ml bottle, shared with local raters. Very dark brown color. Thin light brown head. Couple splotches of lace. Clear around the edges. Awesome chewy texture, light, lightly crisp carbonation. A little bit effervescent, not as much as in other Anchorage brews. Lightly dry in the finish. Awesome aroma. Roasty malt, big bitter chocolate, light coffee, bit of citrus works well with the roasty chocolate coffee. Like a sour stout, but much less chewy, much more bretty funk. Good moderate bitter taste, light zesty sweet, light tart. Delicious, super-interesting stuff.

Tasted on 7/12/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle purchased at Belmont Station. Pours almost completely black with an average tan head that slowly settles into a collar of lace. The nose is prune with coffee, dark chocolate, roast, and a nice red wine vinegar and citrus sourness. The flavor is the same, with all of the flavors nicely melded, and the sourness not really kicking in until the finish. The body is medium and tannic with average carbonation and a long roasted dark chocolate, coffee, and sour red wine vinegar and citrus finish.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks DrSilverworm). Looks good; a dark cola with thin light beige lacing. Smells solid; malty, tart, and funky. Tastes like it smells with some light red wine notes. Average on the palate. Solid beer.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours pitch black with a modest light brown head and a vinous aroma. There is a moderately sour dark molasses flavor that doesn’t match the aroma in regard to sourness. Nevertheless an interesting and tasty brew.

On tap. Dark brown color with tan head. Black currant, prunes, dark pit fruit, wet wood, funk aromas. light body, average carbonation. Mildly tart wet wood, bretty flavors with dark pit fruits, red wine----very tasty.

Bottle. Pours a deep black with little to no head. Aroma is sour and wine barrel forward. There is some vanilla and barrel to start off with and then the pedio sour comes in and takes over. Nice but not super balanced. Light mouth.

Poured at the Festival. From what I remember it was dark brown with thin tan head, medium body, very good tasting

pour @ THE festival, maine. almost clear dark brown with a nice beige head, some retention/lacing. nutty, hazelnuts, frangelico, chocolate, caramelized nuts, wood, red grapes’ must, lactic and acetic acidity, hint of sweetness, spices. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily, lightly acidic and spicy-woodsy finish. much enjoyed!
