Champinjon, alkohol, söt, syrlig, vattnig, blek, ingen choklad?. Känns som att man kan slänga ihop bättre själv.

Bottle. Batch 1, March 2013. Slow gusher. Black with a small light brown head. Oak, red wine, caramel, light yoghurt, light light soapy citrus, dusty, light barnyard/leather, black berries, light toasted malt. Medium sweet, no bitterness, but has a light yoghurt feel to it with some bretty dryness. Thin oily texture. Overall this is coming well together, but could use a sour or bretty punch as it feels a bit thin in mid-taste/finish. Not really sour, not really black, androgynous, but tomorrow who’s gonna fuss?

Bottled at SBWF. Hazy near black, no head. Tart nose with blackberry and cobwebs. Mid dry with medium-full body and soft mouthfeel. Salted dark berries and barnyard. Quite bitter finish. Superb!

Bottle:   Deep brown, slight dark red hue, thin frothy beige head, spotty lacing.   Peanut Nore nose, lots of tartness, woody, faint dark pitted fruit.   Almost like over ripened sour dark pitted fruit.   Soft roasted malts on the tongue, vinous, but not terribly bright.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Vinous, lots of raisin, tart, with some soft chocolate and roasted malts on the tongue.   Decent, but dark Belgian Sour I guess aren’t my thing.   Well crafted, but not that jazzed on sour black biers.

Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. Chocolate and woody with a bunch of baking spices. Great sour.

tmoreau (2562) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Shared 25.4 oz. bottle poured to snifters showing a murky, dark brown color, with a little lighter hue to the modest head foam, and some spotty lacing. The nose was dark fruit as grape & cherry, tart & wine-like, oaky, a touch of roastiness, caramel, and subdued, yeasty funk. These notes were well integrated into the flavor, and similarly expressive, with an "under control" sourness, good fullness to the body, and some dryness to the finish. A flavorfully successful melding of wood, Dark Belgian Strong, and Sour.

750 ml bottle purchased at Louisville Beer Store. The pour is black brown with a smallish tan head. The aroma is a really interesting mix of roasted malt, lacto sour funk and a bright lemon citrus. Unusual combination, for certain, though it really works as the sour blends well with the fresh hops. The taste is the funk lacto up front, followed closely behind with the roast of the malt and the citrus of the hops. As with the nose, all flavors integrate nicely. As the beer warms, the red wine and barrel come out and take over for the lacto in the front of both the nose and the flavor. The palate is medium to light bodied with soft carbonation and a dry finish. Fun, well crafted beer.

Dark brown/black with an off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, oak, hint of red wine. Taste is smoke, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted grains, sour plums. Tasty.
