Tasted on 7/12/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle purchased at Belmont Station. Pours almost completely black with an average tan head that slowly settles into a collar of lace. The nose is prune with coffee, dark chocolate, roast, and a nice red wine vinegar and citrus sourness. The flavor is the same, with all of the flavors nicely melded, and the sourness not really kicking in until the finish. The body is medium and tannic with average carbonation and a long roasted dark chocolate, coffee, and sour red wine vinegar and citrus finish.

Deep and dark pour with one finger of dark tan head. Tart aroma with chocolate, black cherry, spices, and a lightly estery quality. Tart in the flavor with chocolate and dark cherry, some bitter grain, and some spicy notes.

Appearance: pours with a smaller tan head that dissipates quickly, the beer is a very dark black, I'm not even seeing colors on the edges when held up to the light Aroma: Pino noir wine, alcohol, funky, perhaps coffee Taste: very interesting, it's sour yet at the same time has a coffee bitterness to it, nestled in there you also get the red grape flavor from the Pino noir aging, alcohol warmth Palate: much thicker and full mouthfeel that I normally find in sours, unique aftertaste is a mixture of red wine coffee and sour beer, soft carbonation Overall: very unique beer, the way the flavors all come thru assertively is impressive, not your typical stout or sour beer, not really easy to drink, I like it overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 75cl corked. A very dark brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is quite roasted and sourish, a bit simple perhaps, but very pleasant. Some vinegar, oak and berries. It’s full-bodied, soft and pleasantly carbonated, rather tart. Prunes, roasted malts, some salty licorice hint, oak, lemon notes, dark berries and some balsamic vinegar. Lasting roasted, sour and vinegar-ish finish. Quite lovely this one, perhaps a tad too much vinegar though. 150612
