A dark red pour. Big tart aroma. Big oak with an acidic sour to follow. Slight alcholic. Good stuff.

Pours a deep caramel brown with some light tan head. Fair lacing, good legs, thin collar persists. Aroma is dry hay, very light smoke, tart plum and dark cherry all with a big brett funk. Taste is much like the aroma with the dark fruits playing well with the earthy smokiness. I get a faint herbaceousness as well. High carbonation and medium body. Very bubbly on the tongue

Pours a deep mahogany color with some ruby edges and two fingers of tight eggshell foam. Nose is inviting with ripe burgundy acidity, soft roasted grain, sweet pipe smoke, violets, funky old wood, caramel, dark fruits... Mmmm palate follows with a mysterious fruitiness that is both unique and delicious. Its like soft cognac soaked plums, with cherries, cranberries and pinot noir grapes added into the mix. Nice backbone of soft medium roasted malts with hints of cocoa and caramel that back up the moderate acidity and mingle with an earthy leather and mushroom nuance. Really soft and deliciously delicate sour beer !

Full body, with soft to no carbonation. Flavour is tart with blackcurrants, red berries and cherries, as well as oak barrels and tobacco. Tart fruity finish with grapes and tannins.

Bottle thanks to Jason for sharing. Reddish-brown pour with a small head that quickly fades to a thin ring. Aromas are overripe cherries, musty oak, light barnyard, and vinegar. Taste has a light to medium sourness. Moderate musty funk with lots of red fruit and a touch of booze. Decent but Iím just not loving sour red/browns lately.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Dark copper body; semi-translucent with a khaki foam on top that disperses quickly to a foamy collar. Tart red apple aroma with a good amount of vinous red grape, red wine oak, & semisweet booziness. I get more wine than cognac on the nose, but thatís okay. Faint lemon, mild acidity, & a pinch of lactic acid. Light hints of vanilla, cherry, & wood. Flavor is heavier on the vinous notes, as well as the ripe cherry flavors, coming alive with a good deal of acidity & a nice bite of sour lacto. Hints of cinnamon, spicy oak, red apple, & red wine grapes that battle between lactic sourness & vinous booziness. Slightly dry finish with a lingering sweet boozy cherry & woody finish. Really enjoyable stuff.

Bottle: The aroma consists of cola sour cherries, light lemon, vinegar, faint dark fruit, and vinous notes. It pours a transparent orangish-brown with a minimal beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film. The flavor starts with a quick dose of cola and a touch of vinegar. The finish has light sour cherries, lemon, oak, dark fruit, cognac, and oak. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation and somewhat thin mouthfeel.

Bottle at home. Pours clear intense brown, little to no white-greyish beige head. Funky fruit aroma; mango and peach, with some dried grapes (aka raisins), figs and plums, stewed forest fruits; quite a nice bouquet. Light body, a bit watery, nice oaky touches and subtle sourness. Very vinious but lacks body. Taste of a good fresh burgundy chardonnay; lots of burnt oak, sweet apple, slight balsamic vinegar touch. Would have expected a bit more dense body, but for the rest very subtle indeed. Nice collab of two beautiful American breweries!
