750ml c&c bottle at RBWG GT. Poured a good looking medium density pitch black with a foamy average sized light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, vanilla, toast, chardonnay and whiskey. Velvety smooth body with light carbonation. Flavor is better than the aroma with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla extract, whiskey, dark toast, citrus, red wine and whiskey. Very nice.

Bottle shared by Dan at the RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours near clear deep brown with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of dark grains with some raisins, molasses and a bit of roasted malts. Flavor has more roasted malts with the dark grains up front supported by raisin and molasses.

Pour out of 750 mL, dark black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, roast, nice dark fruit, some booze, lots of anise into some whiskey, oak, wine, slight cherry in there, complex for sure. Taste is a mix of nice dark chocolate, roast, big anise, oak, rye, slight oaky bourbon, hints of brett in there, slight wine, finishing fairly sweet, oaky, dry, molasses, more anise. Its a good idea, but a bit too many things going on and the end is full of sugar, anise, and booze.

Bomber at RBWG-2014 Deep dark red-brown with a decent head. Boozy with prunes, dark bread, raisins. Excellent sweet/bitter balance Full body with perfect carbonation. Lasting aftertaste with dark roasted grains eventually coming to the fore.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #120. Bottle shared at the Grand Tasting. Batch 1. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, citrus, nuts, honey, wine, mild wood. The taste is raisin, tart fruit, berries, chocolate, mild roast. Medium bodied, boozy.

Bottle, batch #1. Black with creamy mocha head. Tannins, roasted malt, brett, hint of anise, oak, lots going on here but it all blends well together and works. Moderate body and carbonation, bit tart/sour on the finish, tasty.

Sampled at rbwg. So black and opaque. A tan ring. I smell big malts and dark fruit with licorice. Brown sugar leads the flavors. Dark fruit, vinous motes, raisins. Whiskey is after all that. Alcohol is felt but not tasyed. So sweet! Big does not quite describe. Good.

Bottle @ RBWG. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Anise, dark chocolate, light plum, twangy aroma. Some caramel and Belgian chocolate. A bit tangy, slightly fruity. Dark chocolate. Molasses. Pretty good.

Bottle - Booze and more booze with bittersweet chocolate. Jet black with a decent brown head. Molasses and chocolate, with a sweet finish. So much better in the taste than the nose. Great beer.
