Bottled@SBWF2013. Black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some toasted malts, mild toffee as well as some burning alcohol to it. Flavour is liquorice, mild roasted malts, some ripe fruits, mild vanilla and tart wooden notes. The tartness takes out a bit of the alcoholic sting to it and makes it quite comfortable to enjoy.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to guest of honour BenH for this one. Pretty much am opaque dark brown beer. Little pale tan head. Softish palate, slightly dry,. Light fine carbonation. On the nose there is pleasantly mellow-sour dark fruits. Dry oaky malt. Nice tangy dark fruits with a good red wine streak. Mellow bourbon and a little rye spice. Very light sourness all the way through. Mild dark chocolate. Dry finish, lightly spicy. Very nice and very drinkable. Hugely drinkable for it’s abv.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Massive thanks to Ben for busting this out. Quite a pleasant surprise. Pours deep, fairly oily black with a creamy, beige-brown head. Nose holds a bit of torched wood, some dark fruits, very subtle tang. Medium to big sweet flavor with hefty chocolate cake, strong torched wood, slight alcohol, dark berries, some vinous qualities, light burnt toast, faint earth. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Warming finish, lots more chocolate cake, raisins and other dark fruits, figs, dark toast, some oaky red wine barrel, hints of vanilla, only very slight tang in the form of berries. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, Ben.
