Very complex beer with many layers. A few of its flavors include caramel, cherry, sherry, vanilla, and a strong chocolate lingering after taste. Perhaps there is a better, more flavorful Imperial Stout. I just haven’t found it.

750 ml bottle batch #1 mar 2013: pour is black, and slightly viscous with a minimal quickly fading brown head. Sweet, malty aroma of caramel, molasses, chocolate, cherries and raspberries with hints of vanilla. Very complex. Soft and smooth on the palate. Sweetness up front with layers of flavor. Molasses, cherry, coffee, caramel and vanilla. Slightly sour and subtle hops in the background. Long balanced finish of 60% dark chocolate. Super drinkable.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to ThirstyBird. Faintly reddish black, close to no head. Nose carries a rich & high quality red wine tartness, touch funk, brett, liquorish, red berries, sticky chocolate, faint molasses. Taste is fine bitter liquorish upfront, tangy mixed with oak, red wine, brett is clearly there, lots of vanilla, oka, warming whiskey, tangy, chocolate, touch molasses, rich malts. Warming, easy to drink. Very interesting, complex, unique,… Really impressive, Anchorage seems to really know what they are doing.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Black with a small tan head. The aroma was vinous with brett, dark chocolate, licorice and some whiskey. The taste was excellent. Some brett, licorice, dark chocolate, some dark fruit, whisky and oak. Nice full body and with a warming finish. I really liked this beer.

Pours inky black with a 1 cm mocha head- layered with foamy little bubbles on top and big, darker bubbles on bottom. Classic. loads of dark fruit and creamy vanilla in the nose. medium roast coffee, toffee, and chocolate fudge, too. Super sweet smell. Sooo creamy. This is the creamiest beer I’ve ever had. Super smooth- the whisky comes through in a big way; wine less so, but still present. Loads of creamy mocha, caramel, whisky and spice... I don’t know, man- this is blowing my mind. Gonna have to get more of it. Shout out to Dr.Silverworm for the recommendation. Always appreciate it.

Bottled. Dark color, short head. Aroma of thick choc and coffee, but with a lot of fruity notes, brett, red fruit. Amazingly complex. Bit sweet in taste, medium bitter. Roasty but sweet, great balance, fabulous complexity. Awesome brew.

Bottled at SBWF. Perfectly black with small head. Funky chocolate and licorice aroma. Sweet with full body and soft mouthfeel. Warming and soothing with some vanilla and oak and barnyard together with licorice and dark chocolate. Unique and brilliant!
