4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Batch #2, bottled in April 2012.
Appearance: Be careful when uncaging this as the contents are under pressure. That is even more apparent on the pour which produces almost all head which very slowly dissipates. The body is the color of straw with some haze to it. This beer looks refreshing.
Aroma: Brett is strong on the nose giving off strong leather aromas; straw, citrus and oak support the leathery aromas. This is an excellent aroma if you like Brett.
Taste: The taste isn’t as funky as the aroma indicates, it’s rather tame here. The flavor starts with slight tart lemon and leather before getting a touch sweeter by the end of the mid taste with hints of sweet citrus and malt. The finish isn’t dry nor sweet and the oak is very subdued. A bit of pepper lingers on the tongue and down my throat after the sip.
Palate: Medium to light bodied with soft to hard carbonation by the end of the sip.
Overall: This is another excellent Anchorage beer. I could drink their beer all day if it weren’t on the pricey side. Well done Anchorage Brewing, you’ve got a fan.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a cloudy yellow orange, almost mango colour, with a fluffy white head which slowly subsides. Fantastic lacing left about. Nose is very fruit driven. Loads citrus and tropical fruit balanced by subtle spice and oak notes. Heaps of apricot, mango, passion fruit and orange. Taste is a fantastic balance of subtle spice and tropical fruits. Some vanilla, oak and butter behind the superb balance. Layers of complexity in this one. Wine barrels shine without overpowering. Light funk is in superb balance with the fruity hops. Not too sweet or bitter. Creamy mouth feel and quite easy drinking. Fantastic stuff

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Batch 2.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Ohhh man, I loved this beer. Girlfriend bought it for me for valentines day, wouldn’t have normally gone for a bretty IPA but this was delicious. Poured a bright hazy yellow. Spicy citrus with brett aroma. Big brett funk with IPA complexity made this too enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy yellow colour. Lots of citrus hoppiness, oaks, brett, heavily carbonated. Very nice, but would have liked it more if carbonation was less.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a light hazy yellow, aromas are full of lemon, spices and some funky Brett. There is a very slight sourness, however what ruined this was the over carbonation. Don’t know if this has something to do with the Brett but every ipa with Brett has been super carbonated. But overall this was quite an enjoyable beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy light golden color with a hugely thick frothy white head. Nose has a lot of spices in it with some hoppiness underneath. Taste is quite light and easy to drink - some of the spices comes through with just a hint of hoppy bitterness. Interesting take on an IPA...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cork almost shot my eye out. Cloudy yellow pour with a huge, foamy head. Let’s talk complexity. Holy shit. Initial hit of isovaleric, then big time oak, leather, sulfur, Brett funk, light hops. Flavor is oak-forward, hoppy, more delicious funkiness, with a dry yeasty finish. Tongue-tickling goodness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - huge foamy head, very light yellow color, lemony spicy hop aroma and flavor, very much like a hopped up wit with added complexity, mildly tart
