Bottle from recent Vermont and Maine trip. Medium golden with enormous head that lasts and lasts. Funky almost stinky aroma, yeah its Brett. Bottled in June. The IPA is subordinate completely to everything else going on, some pepper and wheat. Soft mouthfeel. For me very drinkable.

Bottle from spirits Lacey. Pours a cloudy wit beer color with a huge pillowy head. Aroma is of funky Brett, wood, light spices, and a touch of lemony citrus hops. Taste is of mild funky Brett, wood, light melon, lemon peel, light spice with a solid amount of bitterness and light wine notes on the finish with a little peppercorn. Well done

Golden pour with an amber hue. Beautiful, copious, rocky, white head with lacing. Aroma is great rustic/herbal pine from the galaxy, spice/coriander, and faint lemon citrus/vanilla/funk. Flavor is light Belgian wit character of wheat malt and coriander followed by mild lemon citrus/light berry character and then gives way to an even, moderate herbal hop bitterness. Nice and dry. Lingering hop bitterness. Perfect matchup and way better than the Bitter Monk.

Bizarre beer... Not horrible but I almost feel like there was too much going on here... Still have no idea what galaxy hops are and how they are supposed to taste. Cloudy white in color... Minimal aroma... Wheat and coriander definitely dominates upfront, thin mouthfeel, mild hop bitterness and Brett funk and yeast on the finish... Okay beer

Bottle with Ray and Chris. Pours hazy light yellow-white with thick fluffy white head. Aroma was mostly a tart brett, with some funk, spice, and a little piney and citrusy hops. Interesting taste. Tart up front with the hops coming through on the finish.

Bottle with Keith and Simon. Cloudy straw, tons of huge white head that took forever to dissipate. Very spicy, yeasty, brett beer, barely any hops, coriander, orange, insanely carbonated.. exploded after cage was twisted off. Funk came out without the age. Pretty bubbly with yeast notes, doesnít resemble an ipa to me at all. Wish the hops were more present. Fair.

750ml, batch 2 April/2012 Pours a hazy golden banana yellow color with a 2.5 finger frothy, pillowy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks and chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Complex aroma with a balance of dry oak, musty brett, vinous white wine, earthy spice and citrus hop notes. The white wine, brett and spice characters are most prominent. Zesty pepper and strong coriander followed by grape and light fruit. Musty brett compliments the toasted oak and earthy hops. The hop character is earthy with subtle citrus but is slightly overpowered by the other notes. Iím not picking up much fruit/kumquat but Iím sure itís burried underneath everything else thatís going on. Medium bodied with a very musty, earthy flavor from the oak, brett and hops that dominates the flavor until it warms up a bit. Dry toasted oak, funky brett and coriander followed by earthy and citrus hops and vinous light fruit. Again, Iím not picking up the kumquats but they are possibly lingering underneath everything else. The peppercorn and coriander provide a dry spiciness that compliments the dry, resinous hop flavor. After a while, the white wine and bready yeast notes come forward. Pretty dry from all of these elements and the citrus characteristic from the galaxy hop and sweetness from whine and wit yeast are kind of overshadowed. Slightly tart and dry toward the finish but not sour. More funky than anything else. Pretty complex but could use some more sweetness for balance.

750mL bottle. Poured clear, pale golden with a sticky cap of white head. The aroma picked up white vinous notes, funky, fruity Brett, cloves, orangey hops, and ginger over soft bready notes.. a little pink peppercorn toward the back.. very interesting how the bugs worked on the base beer. The flavor found tangy citrus hoppage and white spices on the tip on the tongue, with supple bread and biscuity sweetness following.. tangy vinous notes, oak, and peppercorns laced throughout.. cloves and banana from the yeast hit about halfway through.. fruity Brett and oak dried out the back-end and really tied the beer together.. long, bitter, citrus-led finish. Medium-plus bodied with high, filling carbonation on the palate.. great balance despite the large amount of stuff going on.. this was excellent!

Bottle batch #2. Pours pale hazy lemon hue with a large white fluffy head that slowly settles to a sticky film and lacing. Aroma is funky citrus lemon and bread/yeast with a subtle spice. Taste is more funky citrus lemon and crusty bread notes with a subtle dry hop bitterness and light cheese woody yeast. Palate is full and fizzy like champagne with a drying finish. Seriously, Anchorage just wont let me down!

750 cc from Caponeís. Pours turbid straw colored, not really gold or copper, but more like a lime margarita color, with big 3-finger white head that ;aces well. Nose is slightly funky assy galaxy hops, with huge tropical fruity pineapple, tangerine, and grapefruit. Tastes citric, with grapefruit, lime, pineapple, heavy assy yeasty funk, and a complex finish. As with all Anchorage beers, this one is delicious.
