Batch 2: Misty golden. Towering white crown of clingy meringue. Potently phenolic nose of medical tape, sulfur, white pepper and matchstick along with sherbet, pineapple marmalade, lemon verbena, grassy herbs, celery seed, perfumey hops. New-mown hay aromas lurk beneath. Slightly soapy. Expansive, feathery soft carbonation. Boisterously phenolic from the get-go, with sassy lavender and Russian sage sharpness swirled with brisk bandage- and sulfur-laden phenolics. Crackery, haylike pils malt gracefully restores softness as it blankets the palate with multilayered starches. Grain is supportive, throughout, and mostly clean with the exception of the faintest huskiness (burnt wood) exuding. Twinge of pineapple gorgeously dovetails with the zesty hoppiness and a lemon verbena imbued tartness. Late emergence of floral nectarine succulence couples with a brett-derived peach fuzz bitterness and citrus peel acid to add detail and some welcomed softness to the center. While the hops aren’t overly unruly, at times they teeter on an aspirinlike resinous edge which thankfully stops just shy of clashing with the stark dryness and robust herbs. Plenty of redemptive lemon and tropical fruit succulence beneath the hops continually beckons you to take another large gulp. Finishes explosively phenolic and dryly malty with notes of hay dust, lemon and sharp herbs. Nice effort here. Does need a lot of time to breathe in order to soften and coalesce, as it’s quite brisk and leans toward stark, early on. Aside from some subtle soapiness - which presumably comes from the coriander as it can take on that character when used excessively - this is very enjoyable.

2014-08-08. Lightly hazy pale yellow body with a large foamy white head that fades. Aroma is relatively mild at first with moderate hops and musky funky brett. 7+ Flavour is moderately bitter throughout, musty Brett throughout, lemon notes. Average plus bodied palate, carbonation is effervescent. Very refreshing and drinkable. Quite nice. Bottle via trade with Duffman

[Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a murky yellow with a huge fizzy semi-lasting white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrus, some spices, a good amount of herbs and some hops. Flavour is yeasty, herbal and spicy along with some alcohol, dry hops and a moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. Good, not great.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with nice white head. Aroma is sour and funkiness. Some lemon and orange peel. Taste is mild to moderately bitter with a moderate to heavy sourness. Citrus flavors, belgian spices and funk, orange peel, wheat. I'm not a huge fan of sours and love IPAs so this was interesting. I'd say it's good for a sour but not a great IPA if you love IPAs. Definitely interesting and I'm glad I tried it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Found a 2 year old bottle at a store in West Hempstead NY. Got it back to the hotel, chilled it for a bit, took the cage off and the cork shot off. This beer was true funk, a little bitter, a little spice, but it would have made George Clinton proud. Could barely pour this stuff with all the white billowy head. Now I need to find a young bottle to compare to.

Bottle (bomber). Poured cloudy, yellow, white head and spotty lacing and quite a bit of carbonation. Aroma of citrus fruit, wheat and some hops. Taste is both a bit tart and bitter, spices, and citrus notes are predominant but there is also some wine flavors; a bit funky too. Interesting beer with a nice finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle thanks to mrebeks (I think) for sharing. Pours pale yellow with a huge fizzy head that fades to a messy ring. Huge brett-y aroma with citrus and oak. Tastes like sweat, wet grass, barnyard, peppercorns, coriander and tropical fruit. Super dry finish. Interesting beer. I would’ve rated it higher but that extremely dry finish was just a little too much for me.

There is no way this should be classified as an IPA, I mean, sure it says it in the bottle. But in reality this is a Brett superstar. Pours golden, slim creamy white head. Nose is a nice citrus base. Taste follows, light underlying sweetness. Light sourness undulates. Light body, this is fantastic.

Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, lemon peel, light brett, and a hint of lime. It pours a hazy dull yellow with a ton finger white head that fades to a thin film. There’s a lot of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with starts with citrus with a hint of banana. The finish has moderate floral notes, orange peel, and a hint of brett. It’s light bodied with moderate-lively carbonation.
