3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20clear sparkling pale gold with a tall large-bubbled white head. perfumed white grape and brett band-aid / plastic in the first whiff, developing more spice and fruit notes as it opens. lively carbonation, light body, mild to medium tartness, mild oak presence. wonderfully explosive but still soft carbonation across the middle, it’s surprisingly full and rotund for having such a light and delicate malt base. dry white wine and floral esters and brett must abound. a bit herbal at times, then more floral, then more wheat-focused, then a combination of white grapes and brett that comes across a little like botrytis. shape-shifting, restrained, balanced and delicious.

Bottle from Rincon De La Cerveza, Malaga. Pours cloudy straw colored with a huge frothy snow white head. Aroma is Brett, pepper, juicy fruits, just lovely.
Taste is fresh, wood and white wine, very crisp and dry hops. Dry lingering fruity end.

Smell of coriander, citrus and other fruit. Pale amber colour, extreme white head. Cloudy. The first sip is like a slap in the face. Very bitter, enhanced by stingingly sharp carbon, which is extremely plentiful at that. Aroma of coriander, orange peel, hops, spices. Also spicy hot. Kind of a jack-in-the-box witbier.. or IPA. Or witbier.. Crazy stuff but crazy good, too.

Bottled:
Muddy, pale brown color. Large but weak head. Fruity aroma; pineapple, pine and lots of orange juice. Really bitter flavor of citrus, pine, resin, goose berries and nettles. A flavorful beer that might get a little bit too much in the long run.

Frisk lett fruktig lukt med preg av lys malt, masse humle, sitrus, gjær, sitrusskal, korn, kattepiss, høy, gras. Frisk lett syrlig smak med preg av lys malt, humle, kattepiss, sitrusskal, sitrus, høy, gjær, tre. God bitterhet som set godt, litt uttørrande munnfølelse. Veldig god.

First Alaska rate! Pours cloudy yellow with a massive light fluffy head that explodes up the glass. Aroma is big lemon peel, oak, funky brett, some light spices and hints of earthy hops. More of a farmhouse ale than an IPA on the nose. Light bodied with lots of carbonation (maybe too much?). Flavor is dusty bitter up front, followed by a bit of pine hop, and then finishes with some sweet lemon and pineapple. Sour kumquattyness. Very, very dry to the point that I need a drink of water afterward. The up front bitter is unpleasant and seems a bit off for my liking. I could definitely see this as a summer beer, and it drinks extremely light for 7.5%. But overall I am much less impressed with this than others. The appearance and huge carbonation hurt the final rating, but it seems to have hit what they were going for.

Batch#2, bottled April 2012. Dès ouverture, liège qui commence à pousser, impressionnant.
Couleur paille/foin, léger trouble sur la fin, col épais blanc laissant qcq marques sporadiques sur le verre.
Arôme offre un beau bouquet houblonné, frais alternant des notes d’agrumes. Note en rétro-nasal de poivre mais aussi de ce fruité de kumqat. Galaxy rappelle ici des notes douces de fruits de la passion avec l’ajout du mûrissage en chêne.
Palais est herbacé, amertume citronnée assez léger et complété par le brett qui donne une pointe fin d’aigreur. La Chardonnay est subtile tirant sur le vin blanc. Beau mélange entre le côté vin, fruité tropical et amertume et l’épice; coriandre. Malgré le prix, une belle expérience.

This beer pours a hazy straw color with a medium thick and fluffy white head that dissipates slowly. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, brett and yeast. Medium body and mildly funky with flavors of earthy yeast, citrusy hops and oak. Slight malt in the background. The finish is mildly tart with a funky fruit and hops aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

Caged and corked 750mL bottle pours with a pale yet bright gold body with faint haze supporting a tall densely cobwebed white head of foam. The aroma offers up lime, tangerine, grapefruit and a sour lime sort of wild yeastiness. The taste has a very effervescent quality and it is so much so it is tough to sink you teeth into the experience. I’m getting fruity and tart grapefruit notes that are sliding into lime like citrus and some citrusy tartness. Pretty nice but the huge carbonation takes detracts from the experience.

Thanks kantrauch! Hazy straw yellow with white head. Aroma of wheat citrus lemon and Brett. Very carbonated and effervescent. Taste dry wheat and bitter hops. Good but the effervescence does take away from the taste.

Bottle @ ZeeBra Extreme Beer Festival 2013. Hazy yellow pour. Spicy aroma, slightly funky with a hint of brett and citrus hops. Flavor is slightly bitter, spicy, funky and with huge carbonation.
