Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 12/28/11

Aroma: The nose has some floral notes, citrus, herbs, spice, brett yeast, oak, and some red wine
Appearance: It pours a hazy, unfiltered-looking orange color with a frothy white head, and mid-lace
Flavor: The taste has a nice floral sweetness, some bretty sourness, and just a little hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice grainy, yeasty mouthfeel, and an average-to-lively carbonation
Overall Impression: This is another great brew from Anchorage. It has a wonderful complexity to it. This is a really interesting offering, and you can really feel all of the different components that went into this one. I’ve found through the first two of their beers that I have tried that Anchorage does a great job of combining a lot components without all of the flavors becoming muddled, and that is a great skill, that makes for an amazing beer.

Aroma: pepper, lemon, funky, earthy, lots of fruity esters, vinous, faint oak character. Pours a light golden/straw color, billowing white head with great retention and lacing. Flavor follows the nose well - fruits and spices abound, lots of lemon grape and orange, funky with a touch of oak, spicy hops yield medium bitterness, acidic. Medium body, medium-high carbonation.

Bottle… Pours golden and mostly clear with a huge, frothy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The nose is oaken, funky and acidic – lemon, red wine, and dashes of unidentified spices. Medium-bodied with Champagne-like, airy carbonation. Unfortunately, the flavor is mostly spicy and bitter with only traces of the oak, vine and funk promised by the bouquet. Finishes airy, funky, vinous, and then Sahara-dry. If only the flavor had matched the aromatics, this would have been world class stuff. Bottle courtesy of ElliesBrown!

Bottle. Batch #1, August 2011. Rated 21.5.2012. Hazy golden orange with fine head. Fruity, funky, hoppy, spicy. Orangey, dry, complex, slightly tart and superbly balanced and drinkable. A ridiculously tasty saison and a true masterpiece.

Split bottle with friends. Poured a semi-hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was floral spice notes, yeast notes. Slight funk. Flavor is yeasty, with notes of spice and a touch of floral and earthy hops. Okay.

Bottle shared at my 30:th birthday tasting on May 5 (30 år av Surt). Bottle bought @ Ølbutikken (many thanks to the staff who saved a bottle for me for more than a month). Pours hazy deep reddish golden with a huge frothy and fluffy white head that leaves some thick lacing and trace while dissipating. Smell is sweet, fruity, tiny floral and intense with grapes, cloves, lemon zest, wood, brett, barnyard, plums, ginger and hints of red wine. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny sour and fruity with ripe grapes, ripe plums, ripe citrus fruits, wood, hay, brett, ginger, white pepper and hints of mango and alcohol. Mouthfeel is dry, tiny tart, round and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and tiny sour with citrus fruits, hay, grapes, wood and hints of pine.

Clear orange / copper. Aroma of bretta, pineapple, toffee, caramel and dried strawberries with sugar. Sour too. Flavour of some yeast, gun powder or fire works, coriander and fruits.Again, the flavour is also sour. Medium carbonated.
