Samples at the ’12 GABBF. Hazy yellow color with a short white head. Weird nose of raw eggs and brett funk. Sour beers are not my thing and this was sweeter than I expected. Candy floss, some orange juice and moldy hay. Better than it smells and a really interesting set of flavors.

at GAABF, Good aroma, Tart. funk and citrus, lemon and orange, barnyard, cheese. Pale golden color, small head, no lace. Tart flavor, light body, thin mouthfeel, bitter finish. Very nice, flavor had a liitle more than aroma led me to believe.

A Sim rate (Extreme Beer Festival, Boston): Sour and nicely yeasty with a short finish. Again, a great beer from Anchorage.

Pouring at the Night of the Barrels on the Friday night of EBF 2012. Pours a mostly clear gold with a thin white head. Soft funky acid, toast and big brett. Lovely brett, light acid touches. Tart and bright, light toast. Bright acid. Long bretty funk on the finish. Hope bottles of this show up near me soon.

A nice size pour during an EBF lecture session. Gabe seemed quite excited about this beer and I thought it was one of the better beers of the festival. Interesting to find out that the Brett culture for this one was provided by Vinnie from RR and there will be plenty more tasty sour beers coming from ABC. Hazy pale yellow with a white head. Very fresh and clean, yet also very sour and tart with some coriander, wheat and lemon zest that comes through from the base bear. Liked this one a lot - if you can try it do so!

Bottle. Soured up Whiteout. Cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma of barnyard, damp oak, lacto, vinegar and some lemon. Flavor is very sour, lots of tart yeast and bugs lend the majority of the flavor, there is some light wheat and citrus flavors as well. Light body with active carbonation and a dry, dusty mouth feel. I like what the additional bugs did to Whiteout and am looking forward to more of these types of beers from ABC.

Draft at GABBF. Cloudy yellow color, large white head. Aroma of funky rising sourdough bread and light citrus. Taste is sour and dusty lemons. Very nice.
