4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2013 Poured from a corked and caged 750ml bottle into a Duvel tulip, bottled October 2011.
A: Crystal clear golden amber with an thick and fast stream of fine carbonation bubbles floating to the thick rocky white head with excellent retention. This is an excellent looking beer, it wants to be drank!
S: I don’t even know where to begin with this beer in the aroma. Chardonnay and oak come mildly through with a lemon zest from the Sorachi hops, but the Brett is also very prominent here giving a bright leathery funk to this. This is a bright smelling beer with a lot going on, I absolutely love this!
T: Upfront a slightly sweet flavor presents itself that’s hard to discern before the combination of Brett, Sorachi hops, and the oaked chardonnay come in. Boy this is a lot to take in. I’m picking up lemon, oak, leather and slight pepper in the mid-taste while the finish is hinting strongly at chardonnay with some banana and cloves. This is a party in my mouth.
M: Clean medium body with light carbonation, this glides over the tongue and down the throat.
O: I am in love. This is my favorite beer brewed with Brett. The description sounded a bit intimidating but the combination works together to make a bright slightly funky beer that is beautiful in looks and too easy to drink.
Cellar Review: Batch #1, October 2011.
Appearance: The body is hazy with a straw color, almost reminiscent of a mimosa. The head is tall and white with decent retention, settling into a light coating.
Aroma: This is complex and intense with huge fruity notes. The tripel side is showing bubblegum, banana and even some strawberry, that is complimented by hints of oak and white wine from the barrel aging and becomes even more complex by aromas of hay, tart lemon, and mild funk. Holy cow.
Taste: Holy shit, this is fucking delicious. The intro is mildly tart with lemon that is quickly matched by sweet malts and banana, this intro leads into a banana prominent mid-taste with overlying chardonnay notes and subtle peppery and cloves spice. The finish becomes hay like with mild funk and a slight tartness with a spicy finish that lingers.
Palate: Medium bodied with high carbonation.
Overall: This is even better than when I originally had this. This is a damn near perfect beer and the only beer I have ever considered giving a 5 to once I passed my "green" phase. This is complex with everything in perfect harmonious balance. Fucking delicious doesn’t even begin to describe how good this is.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Bottle (750ml)] Pours a hazy gold with yellow hues and an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Lacing on the glass. Aroma is yeasty, bretty and semi-sweet along with some herbs, light grassy hops and a hint of wood -- there’s tons going on here. Nice flavour of brett, spices, grassy hops, some grapes, a hint of wood and some light sour fruit. Alcohol is well hidden. Average to medium bodied. I loved it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow-amber with a medium creamy white head that lasts a long time and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is oak, Brett, honey, citrus, a bit of white wine. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and lightly funky with a bit of finishing zesty bitterness. Oaky, vinous, and bretty, on top of a tripel base. Just a touch of astringence. Medium body, light carbonation. Boy those guys in Alaska are magicians with Brett!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Colour...light yellow with a humongous white head. Nose... oaky grapes and yeast with peppery pineapple and kiwi. Palate...what a frothy monkey! After the froth recedes the tropical fruit takes over and pineapple takes the reins with mango and papaya as the wingmen. The styrian hops are most prevalent compared to the sorachis, but both are subtle compared to the other flavours going on. The Chardonnay finally makes it’s appearance towards the finish and the vinous aspect comes to light and casts an ethereal presence on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

Batch 1: Oct 2011
Pours light grain yellow with brilliant clarity and a solid quilt of bone whites. Smells really nice with lemons, pineapple, grain, clay, a little green olive juice. Flavor doesn’t disappoint - nice bitterness, some grass, some almost teatree oil and leather with a bit of metal. Thin bodied with hi carb and a wet finish. Nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Scarred Cloudy blonde, lovely thick but tight white head. Creamy, delayed key lime tang nose. Sumptuous creaminess under and over. Weird how this fits in, sweet and crystalline marshmallow dubbed with a quenching loop back to the bretty coil. Levee Breaking really freshment in a Tripel on the finish. Bang tidy.
