Incredible aroma, absolutely a little wild, funky, tart, with discernable chardonnay. Lovely, lovely aroma, could smell this for hours. Flavor is a bit sour, spicy (pepper, clove, coriander) but not over the top. Pretty normal flavors for a wit but woody, thin, reedy. Easy to drink, maintains good carbonation almost until warm.

750 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Batch 3, June 2014. Clear straw yellow with about a finger of off-white head. Aromas of funk, citrus, herbs, some white wine, a bit of Brett. Tastes of citrus, funk, light wheat, white wine, light tart acidic notes, subtle herbs. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Nicely balanced and well done.

Hazy straw colour. No head. Aroma has brett, coriander, and sort of wheaty character. A slight tartness, but more crisp brett and fresh wheaty malt notes. The chard barrel lends a snappy quality to the finish.

Awesome white wine aromas that have tons of melon, lemon, and grassiness. Very pale straw color with little carbonation. Taste is delicious with ripe apples up front and the oak from the barrel smoothing things out. Very dry finish. Wish it had a tad more carbonation to make the flavor a pop a little more.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is fragrant earthy and barnyard yeast notes, Brettanomyces, light lemon notes, wheat malt and coriander with floral notes. Flavor is tart and acidic lemon, earthy and funky Brettanomyces, light hops and bitterness, wheat malt and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Whiteout has one of the best names and one of the coolest bottles you’ll ever see. Review over. Just kidding. Whiteout is pale and heady, as you’d expect. Aroma has citrus, spices, earthy Brett, and oaky Chardonnay notes. Flavor reveals savory spice, vinous fruit, lemon, orange peel, and of course, Brett. Despite all the complexity, Whiteout is soft and thirst-quenching. You definitely won’t notice the increased ABV. While this isn’t an orthodox Belgian White, it’s a damn good one.

Bottle. A- Sour, tart, lemons, citrus, vinegar. A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Sour, tart, sweet, citrus, vinegar. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sour finish. O- Prior to this I had the Galaxy White IPA. After this I am now convinced I do not like Anchorage. White IPAs and Witbiers are two of my favorite styles. Throw in this Brett shit and charge me an outrageous price for the bottle and I am not pleased. To me, the Galaxy and Whiteout tasted the same. Two different styles and both tasted like the same thing. A not so good sour. Big let down.

750ml bottle from El Cerrito Liquor in Corona, California. Batch #3, June 2014. Clear light yellow in colour with a thin white head, light lacing. The aroma has some lemons, yeast, oak and spice. The flavour is of moderate citrus, fairly sweet, bretty, yeast, wheaty. Finishes with a light tartness, a little dry.

Batch #3 juillet 2014.

Batch #3. Juillet 2014.
