3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 mL bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear golden colour. A sour clear bock which is an acquired taste. A nice change from the usual Andechs, but a little disappointing.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Slightly skunky whiff over what seemed like an ordinary pale Lager aroma and a pale Lager appearance. Very malty, caramel, syrup, with a dry finish and a scandalous presence of alcohol. Not what I want for my beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light, clear gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma is of grass, chamomile, grain. Taste is much dryer than the doppelbock at Andechs, but very clean and still balanced with a touch of floral hops. Medium-bodied and no noticeable alcohol. Nice!

pours clear light yellow with a small white head, little retention. sugary malts, hint of corn - sweetness though, vanilla and woody-spicy notes, wet grass, booze, grape juice. soft carbonation, light to medium body - very oily, quite nice grassy-spicy finish. on style, but not quite my style either. still.. well executed.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle at Beer O’clock II, Bucharest, Romania. Clear golden with white ring. Sweet, sugary aroma. Old, so there’s just a little grass. Bitter, alcoholic taste - way too alcoholic, more than anything else. Light body, syrupy texture. Disgusting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle from some grocery store in Munich. Pours a crystal clear, pale yellow colored body with an inch thick, dense, frothy and foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is lightly sweetened, a bit grainy, somewhat sulfury, and a touch fruity with some apple and melon. Flavor is nice. Lightly sweetened malts with a touch of honey, a nice hop balance throughout giving off just a light spiciness, and a bit of an apple and melon note. Finishes dry and clean with a light bitterness, light sweetness, and nice malt character. Lengthy aftertaste with a bit of an alcohol heat following a medium-light, smooth body and a somewhat lively, moderate carbonation. Overall, a really solid heller bock. Nice malt character and light sweetness with a balanced bitterness and spiciness. Very easy drinking for the size. Good beer.
