Typical "normal" bock with a quite bitter, well balanced aftertaste. Not too sweet.

Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - MAY 7, 2012
0,5 liter bottle from Jumbo, Santiago de Chile, slightly different label as Kloster Andechs Bergbock Hell and 6.9% alcohol. Best before 27-09-2012. Pours an extremely clear orange color with a fizzy white head that dissappears quickly. Aroma is purely malty and grainy with notes of cereal, wheat, toasted bread and dough. Some phenols are present. The taste is bold and intense, sweet but not cloying due to the graininess. It shows hints of honey, cereal grains, pistachios, ginger and honeydew mellon. Only a slight and distant trace of hop herbal presence. Not easy to drink... more of a sipper. Body feels heavy in the mouth because of the intensity of the flavor and the warming alcohol. It could be a little more refined but it’s still a fantastic and prototypical German Heller Bock.

ALLOVATE (1705) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - APR 14, 2012
Radiant and shimmering, sunny orange body with very, very fine carbonation and donned by a thin, compact and tight white crown that is lasting. Grainy, cereal-like nose with a clean and rich, toasted malt background. Very soft, foamy and smooth mouthfeel. Light bodied but quite malty sweet which gives it a slightly gripping mouthfeel. Plump fruit esters like guava, peach and cantaloupe, a hint of floral musk in the aftertaste. Alcohol is evident, medicinal and warming; strange of a beer of this strength. Light hop note reminiscent of vine clippings on the swallow breaks up the malty and fruity flavours that dominate. Overall more a European strong lager than a Helles Bock. Easy drinking but a little too sweet . (50cL, BB 13/06/12, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

Poured from a 0.5L bottle, expires Dec. 21st... Appearance: Beautiful honey gold with a fluffy 2 finger head. Lacing is gradual but minimal. Smell: Sweet bready malts are easily noticable with minor yeast and hop balance. Taste: The ABV is slightly noticeable in the taste but the flavoring hides it well. Flavors of both bitter and sweet to balance it out with many pairings. Mouthfeel: Clean and crisp carbonation leaves it refreshing while not overbearing or boring. Overall: All around top notch beer for it’s style. Having tried all of the Andechs beers I can guarantee you that any of their styles will not stray far from exemplary. I did not happen to see this one on tap when I was there though. Regardless, the Kloster Andechs is a beer connoisseurs Mecca!!! Prosit!!!

Pours clear yellow with a medium, not really stable head. Smell of malt, hay, grain, citrus. Tastes quite similar and very refreshing but a bit dry in the end with no special hop flavours. full body but it leaves a bit dry feeling in your mouth.

JaKeAFC (200) - ITALY - JAN 22, 2012
50cl bottle 6.9%. Clear dark yellow, medium sized white head with fair lacing. Nose of lager malts and alcohol. Aroma of sweet malts, a light grassy hops and some alcohol. Taste is sweet with a modest bitterness in the finish. Thick, oily texture, soft carbonation, warming. I’m not a fan of the style and this doesn’t have any special feature i could remind of, quite straight forward heller-bock.
