Dark reddish brown with a large, quickly disappearing head. Aromas are smooth chocolate malts with floral hops. Flavours are more floral than expected with some chocolate malts, nuttiness and sweet roast character. Not quite as malty as I was expecting but still very nice.

Given to me by a co-worker who recently went to Germany. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty and reminiscent of smoked beef jerky. Taste is sweet, malty, roasty with a nutty molasses character and a hint of sourness/roastinesss.Mouthfeel is full and round. Recommended.

I must say that everyone I drank with the night I tried this brew disagreed with me wholeheartedly. I found the nose to be overly yeasty wih a foot-like scent. Medium-bodied, I also felt like there was too much breadiness to the malty middle, and not enough hop character. Not enough roastiness for the style.

Coffee and malt aroma and falvor. Caramel. Sweetish with just a bit of roasted malt. Medium bodied. Great quality dunkel, one of my favorites!

Amber color. Quite ordinary Dunkel, with loads of caramel, but at least also some malty structure.

Quite distinguish roasted and burned malty feeling. Nice and smooth. Very tasty. I like it, even though Jens likes the Weihenstephaner better.
