3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Dark brown but far from black, with a lovely big and brownish head. Very malty and roasted, but not ashy dry - more caramelish and sweet. Extremely high gravity - you would expect this to be stronger than it actually is. 081000

Reddish brown with big firm white foam. Deep amlty aroma of toffee, almond, toasted bread, burnt sugar and grass. Wonderfull and deep malty flavour of light chocolate, fresh baked ryebread, raisinbread and toffee. Extremely well-balanced aftertaste of roasted malt, toffee and nuts. This is an awesome dunkel!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Quite reddish for a dunkel but otherwise mostly brown. The aroma is dusty chocolate with sweet caramel notes and malty fruits. The taste is full-bodied; sweet and smoky with lots of fruity malts and brown bread. A very nice dunkel which is to be expected when you consider how good the Doppelbock is. World class in its field.

This comes my way thanks to Madsberg!
A light brown creamy head topped this marvelous brew. The head lasted all the way so I had to look through the side of the glass to see the sparkling clear body of mahogany brown with ruby edges.
Heavy, malty aroma with bread and toast coming through.
The flavor was lightly sweet and delivered with a creamy softness. Very enjoyable Dunkel.

Draught at Cetimeter III, Vienna
Malty sweet aroma. Nice creamy brown head, dark brown color. Taste is malty, light sweet, fresh. Notes of burnt malt, especially in the dry bitter aftertaste. Not bad, but not my cup of tea.

Tap. Good deep amber to slightly brown and pretty clear. Good lasting head although small. Aroma is sweet and malty from munich malts. No hops in the aroma but they come out slightly in the flavor it balance it out. Seems a slight bit fuller in body that many other dunkels despite its average abv. Good all around dunkel.
