I tried the one that Brick Brewery is brewing under licence from Andechs. Being brewed in Waterloo, Ontario and not Germany I think it would taste different then the European original. It has 0.3% less alc. content in it. Although I have never had the original so it is hard to say. It has an almost nothing aroma that resembles a faint malty sweetness. Golden in colour with a huge head that rapidly disappeared. It leaves a bitterness in my mouth. And is sweet. Creamy and bitter on the throat. Nothing demanding serious attention. I would really like to try the original though. This is too sweet and reminds me of a malt liqour.

Bottled. Gold, good head and moderate condition. Sweet malt mingled with hops in the nose carried up on a breeze of alcohol. Full bodied with lots of sweet grain and a short sweet finish that leaves you wanting more.

Much more cloudy than I had expected-like a cross between a traditional hell and a wheat beer.Resembeled an alcoholic ice cream. Slightly different but not very exciting.

(Bottle) Canadian version brewed by Brick. Pours a medium frothy head and light golden body. Aroma of sweet corn and fruit. Very flavourful with hops, malt and slight spice. Good but not what our European cousins are drinking.

expected more from this. quite smooth for its strngth with vanilla ice cream in the roof of the mouth. the head died quickly and i nearly had an accident as the beer was the exact same colour as the wooden floorboards and i nearly knocked it over. it wouldn’t have been a great loss

Golden and with a nice head. Fresh, well balanced nose.....and here my notes start repeating themselves - sorry I’ll write something sensible as soon as I taste it again - should not be too long :-)

Nice hoppy, hay-ey aroma. Pale golden body with no head. Nice hoppy flavor with tabacco-notes and a pleasant sweetish underpining. Very long citrusy finish. Refreshing but not as good as the other ones from Andechs.
