Ultrafresh bottle from nearby German store. I’m loving the solidityand full character that is also fully rounded. Smooth big malt notes and some fruity tones. Full aroma is like taste. Really good! Has some wild honey and sweet grassiness.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011

Ordentlich.

on tap @ Andechser Hof, Tutzing am Starnberger See. Clear pale golden colour, large and creamy white head. Shy but lovely hoppy aroma. Light and crispt malty base with a good amount of grassy-floral hops. Not bitter, but very hoppy in flowery way. Superb.

Bottle 0.5 L. Intense golden body, with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with a fair lacing; average density of medium-sized bubbles. Moderate-to-heavy malty aroma (bread, grains) with some herbal hoppy character and some fruity notes (pear and/or apple). Moderate sweet flavour well balanced by an evident bitter character that comes out after a while. Medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation; a light metallic feeling in the finish is somehow hidden by the medium beer body and a light alcoholic warming. Satisfactory.

Poured into a pilsner glass. Color is a light golden color with a slight amount of haze, though there is still plenty of visible carbonation. Two-finger white head eventually falls down and leaves some nice bubbles around the edges. Really nice lacing around the edge of the glass. Nose is a bit of grain with a very mild fruit presence. Some light pear. The taste is mostly just grain with some faint white bread. A bit of very light fruit. Feel is a bit light and creamy with low-ish carbonation. Some nice flavors throughout, but fairly plain without much to really draw me in. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-10-2010

50cl bottle in Germany. Pours light gold with a small fast disappearing head, aroma of herby hops and buttery malt, crisp and dry with prickly hops, peppery hop finish. A nice helles.
