Probably the best helles I’ve had. Man, Andechs continues to deliver. Light golden pour, white head, nice lacing. Aroma of hay, sugary cereal, and lemon. Flavor is sublimely balanced. There is a solid sweetness hiding in there, but the lemony hops add just the right amount of bitterness to lend the brew a clean, refreshing finish. Despite the mild nature of the flavors involved (lemon, pale malty sweetness) this beer manages the be pretty flavorful. Mouthfeel is very smooth. Coats the tongue nicely. Good beer.

very pale yellow color. little carbonation. Not much smell. Odd taste, long lasting backend, but banana flavor isn’t appealing. ok for the german style, but not good overall.

* Old Rating, 0,5l bottle, best before 23.08.04. Schönes, weiches, leicht süßliches Helles. Voller vom Körper als das Vollbier hell, sehr süffig, süßlich-malzig mit leichter Herbe. Schön!

Tap @ Schnabel, Würzburg, 15/11/14. Pours a golden yellow with a good, white head. Aroma is grainy with pale malts. Taste follows along the same lines. A regular helles, decent.

0.4 Litre, served in handled mug. Very pale straw colour, clear, two finger head, kept a lid of foam on top, also had some lacing. S: Not overly pronounced, but a bit of subtle orangy Bavarian malt. T: Hint of sharpness added to the south Bavarian malts, notes of orange. M: Minimal carbonation, light body, went down OK. O: More export than Helles, very drinkable.

Couleur dorée, très légère mousse blanche. Nez leger fruité. Gout malté, fruité, note houblonnée, assez seche, mais bon corps, et agréablement bonne. Fin notes fruitées et petite amertume.

Light flower aroma and golden straw color. Hop bitterness comes through, but doesn’t overpower the malt. Easy to drink on an early Autumn day.

Pours clear golden with a thick foamy white head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma is mild and has very light grass and a mild minerally note. Flavor is very balanced between mild straw and slightly spicy/grassy hops. Mouthfeel is medium / full and the finish is dry and crisp with lingering hoppiness. Very crisp, clean, refreshing.

0.5L bottle. Pours clear pale with a frothy white head with minimal lacing. Clean malt aromas dominate, grass and cereal grains. Fairly strong sulfur also coming through, as well as herby hops. Mild cereal grain sweetness at the beginning, giving way to herby hop flavor, which morphs into a long, herbby hop linger. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, a nice helles lager with good grain and hop character. A beer to keep around for when guests come!
