COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A product of traditional multiple mashing, Andechser Vollbier Hell presents a bright straw yellow and clear gleaming look that cannot fail to fascinate. Its head is firm and fine pored. Its aroma is pure and fresh from the cellar, with soft malty accents imbued with floral hoppiness. Its light and soft body leaves a pleasant, tangy taste in the mouth. The mild sweetness marries well with the velvety bitterness of the hops. It concludes on a rounded, harmonious note. Andechser Vollbier Hell is therefore a classical Bavarian Vollbier (11.5% original extract and 4.8% alcohol by volume).

50cl bottle at home. Clear yellow/golden with a medium white head with low retention. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Starts somewhat sweet, followed by some malty bitterness. Hay, citrus, malts, hops and grass. I thought this was a somewhat flat brew, not too special, but quite refreshing.

Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of grain and straw, moderate herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with a hint of pepper. Head is Average size, crreamy, white with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear light amber. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is light to medium watery with a carbonation between soft and lively. Crispy clean Helles.

Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 1 - London. Pours clear, very pale yellow with a creamy, white head. Pleasant, with creamy and biscuity pale bread, faint bitter straw, some hints of lemon. Light bodied with average carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Clean and moderately sweet to finish with more doughy biscuits and low hop presence. Love it. Could drink this beer all day.

Bottle: Clear, very pale gold with a huge white head. Barley malt, lemon aroma. Taste is sweet, barley malt, straw. Mild but pervasive grassy bitter. The sweetness and hop bittering don’t mesh particularly well...just ok.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks troubles. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, hay, grass and graininess. Sweetish flavor with grains, malt, faint grassy notes and very light bitterness. Light to medium-bodied.

Pours crystal clear straw yellow with moderate frothy white top. Aroma is cereal grains and light floral. Taste is crisp, clean, cereal malts with a touch of bitterness. Well balanced and well made, I’d expect nothing less from Andechs.

Bottle from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours light gold with a white head. Aroma seems apple/white grape. Hints of sweetness. Med body. Crisp. Flavor is white grape, floral and a little light malt. It’s balanced. Bitter enough to satisfy me. Not too malty. Drinks well.

Bottle: The aroma consists of lightly sweet cereal/grain, with a touch of honey, grass, and straw. It’s pours a transparent dull gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet cereal notes with a hint of apple. The finish has light grass and straw. It’s light-medium bodied mild carbonation.
