COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A product of traditional multiple mashing, Andechser Vollbier Hell presents a bright straw yellow and clear gleaming look that cannot fail to fascinate. Its head is firm and fine pored. Its aroma is pure and fresh from the cellar, with soft malty accents imbued with floral hoppiness. Its light and soft body leaves a pleasant, tangy taste in the mouth. The mild sweetness marries well with the velvety bitterness of the hops. It concludes on a rounded, harmonious note. Andechser Vollbier Hell is therefore a classical Bavarian Vollbier (11.5% original extract and 4.8% alcohol by volume).

Schnitt at Andechser am Dom, Munchen. Light golden color, hufe white head, malty aroma lots of grains, flour, bread. Sweetish malty taste, clean smooth malty finish. A bit of dryiness and bitterness, average carbonation, medium body.

500 ml bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a super clear yellow color with a medium white head. A light malty nose, light pils malt and perfume. Honey, pils malt, toast, some sweet easy notes. Very clean. Easy to drink tons of this. A light peppery finish. Solid.

On tap at Binny’s Lincoln Park taproom. Light straw slightly cloudy pour. Flavor is crisp, grainy, bright, and a bit funky. Decent interesting helles, if not a little too thin, leaving too much funk/skunk to come through.

Bottle 0.5L. Clear pale golden body with a large, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Moderate hoppy (herbal, flowers) and light-to-moderate malty (grains) aroma. Light-to-moderate bitter and sweet flavour, nice balanced; bitter finish. Light body with watery texture; lively carbonation.

500 ml bottle. Pours a yellow gold color with a large pillowy white head. Nice sweet malty nose has notes of lemon and and floral hops. Firm sweet malt flavor has some citrus and a silky mouthfeel. Crisp and refreshing with a touch of bitter hops in the finish. A very nice Helles from the Brewers at Andechs Klosterbrauerei.

bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Cincinnati OH --- Clear straw amber color, fluffy white two-finger head, thick splashes of lace. Aroma of malt and grassy hops. Taste is malt that is pushed aside on the swallow by floral hops and a bit of clay. A solid example of a Helles, but could just as easily be a Kolsch. Either way, a solid light brew.

Aroma: nice, classic herbal grainy nose, neat fresh golden malt with meadowy grassy feel. Old school. 8-
Look: poured clear , deep golden with lasting medium lighter cap. 3+
Palate/Flavour: medium lighter bodied. Frisky carbonation. Worty with pale golden malts and grassy hops. Soft but carbonation tad too prickly for my liking in Helles beers. Still brings me back to Bavarian Dorfs.
