Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

Bottle 50cl. Cloudy yellow golden color, nice two finger frothy white head, good retention and lacing; aroma of yeast, banana, grass, citrus, hint of ginger; taste is moderate sweet, slightly bitter and a touch of sourness, yeasty; medium body, watery texture, average carbonation; finish fresh, smooth and light sweetbitter, again some light sour notes, and yeastiness remains also. Very nice weissbier.

Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Super hazy, muddled & radiant yellow body with a soapy, somewhat chunky white head that slowly settles to a collar. Lovely hefeweizen yeast aroma; rich bubblegum with light sweetness, banana Laffy Taffy, fruity & faintly perfumey esters, a bit of warming clove, fresh baked bread, wheat, & a slight kiss of mint leaf. The taste is just as advertised by the aroma, only in different proportions. Big clove out of the gate; spicy but not overbearing. Gummy, golden baked bread, chunky hefe yeast, huge blanket of wheat, subtle banana & even a touch of apple. Nice, relatively hefty body with a good yeast thickness to it. A very enjoyable hefeweizen.

Bottle at home. Has a hazy light orange colour with big, creamy head. Sweet aroma with fruity yeast, cloves, banana, some vanilla and wheat. Balanced and rich. The flavour follows up and is sweet and with nice spices in the aftertaste. Has a soft and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A well-balanced, rich and tasteful hefeweizen.

Pours a nice and bright hazy orange with a thick white head...great retention and lacing. Aroma has significant spice and a touch of orange. Flavor follows suit and balances nicely with an earthy bitterness that dries it out nicely. Mouthfeel is medium and silky while the finish is crisp and dry and wheaty/earthy...almost minerally. Very nice.

Cloudy yellow color, big fluffy white head. Huge banana aroma, delicious, some orange peel and yeast. Thin body, soft carbonation, creamy. Medium to heavy sweetness. Awesome Hefe!
