COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2015 50cl botle. Pours cloudy orange, with thick and creamy head. Yeasty, hoppy and with loads of grains. Honey, bananas abd cloves - all are clearly noticeable. Variety of spices used is amazing. Tangy, crispy and refreshing. Having this beer at the end of a long drive is truly rewarding. Enjoyed in Freiberg. P.S. I actually had it already in 2010.

In short: lively carbonated cereal beer. Aroma is flowery, taste is banana/cereal, sadly with too much carbonation (metallic sensation in the end)

Flaska från SB. Gyllenfärgad, grumlig, högt vitt skum. Stiltypisk doft men mer jäst och källare och lite mindre skumbanan. Frisk, jästig och len i munnen. Mycket karaktär och samtidigt väldigt drickvänlig och uppfriskande. En hel del nejlika i kryddningen. En riktigt bra hefe.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 500ml bottle served in a Weihenstephan Weizen. A: Pours a cloudy orange to beige color forming a huge white bubbled creamy white head. Excellent retention and many chunks of foam left in the glass. Well, as a matter of fact, it never disappear completely remaining for looong time S: Great in the nose. Very wheat, with notes of banana and loves as expected. It’s also sweet and bready. German yeast T: Follows the nose. Wheat backbone. Notes of banana esters, cloves, sweet malts and white bread. In overall, a slightly sweet and very smooth beer in the mouth. Simply perfect M: Light but creamy body. Low carbonation. Veeery smooth sensation. Bready aftertaste O: Absolutely drinkable beer. Great German beer. Recommended [ BA Review @ 9/24/2012 ]

500 ml bottle from Hippo Beers, pours a markedly opalescent straw yellow with a great thick fluffy persistent head. Aroma, fragrant with bananas and grass. Taste, again bananas, flowers, yeast and a bit of spicy freshness. Great stuff, echoing summer freshness!

On tap. Served a golden color with a nice head and some lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast, bit of malt sweetness and earthy. taste of citrus, bit of fruit, malt sweetness and bit of yeast. tangy bitterness and a fairly clean finish. Moderate body, crisp, tangy and has a nice feel for the style.

Moebbels (419) - FINLAND - OCT 11, 2014
Pours a hazy yellow body with a very quickly settling white head. Nose has nice aromas of sweet bananas, yeast and some spices. Taste is sweetish with a minimal sourness, the finish is mildly bitter. Carbonation is on the high side and mouthfeel is just above medium. This is a very nice and balanced beer with lovely banana notes. This bottle was close to its BBE date, so a fresher one might score better.
