Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

Cloudy deep golden color with a thick off white head. Nice lacing. Looks niiiice. Typical hefe weisse aroma. Some yeast, banana and a bit fruity. Medium + body. Tad sweet with a moderate bitterness. Toffee, fruity, bready, banana and some yeast in the flavor. Nice tasty weisse.

500ml bottle from The Beerhive. Pours hazy pale gold, thick white head, high carbonation keeps it there. Big banana aromas, light clove, lebkuchen. Taste has quite a bitter clove tang, creamy bread-pudding sweetness. Yeast character comes through as it goes down. Lovely.

Honey brushed yeast roll aroma, trademark banana underneath, a little vegetal. Hazy amber, thick head. Banana with a definite yet mild DMS presence. Smooth, medium body, soft carbonation. Decent, but flawed. This should have been a relatively fresh sample, as this brewery just began distribution in my area within the past month.

Feels great, tastes very good. European beer feels anonymous to me but this came free so I gladly will drink it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Blonde pâle, opaque. Belle mousse blanche persistante, lacings. Légèrement blé, banane, un poil épicée et levures. Houblonnage présent. Acidité citrus. En bouche un poil sur le sucré et épicée, fruitée acide pour la balance. Bonne carbonatation. Bien bien

Sweetshop aroma, peardrop, floral, and lots of banana, touch of clove. White head, hazy golden body. Grainy, bready, slightyly acidic, delicate bitterness. Intense and fine effervescence. Not an enduring aftertaste, but pleases on many other fronts.

L0484 Bottle.
Glass: Weizen.
Appearance: Tall and pillowy white head sits on a hazy golden body.
Aroma: A bit of lemon, chalky malts, a dash of vanilla and a hint of phenols. Aroma is mild but pleasant.
Taste: Flavor is prominent vanilla with a hint of banana and lemon. Slightly chalky and a bit effervescent.
Palate: Lacking some carbonation, chewy medium bodied.
Overall: A nice weissbier, though lacking in some ways. Perhaps it’s a bit past its prime. I’ll have to try again fresher.

Pours a hazy golden color topped with a very nice white frothy head. Wheaty aroma, notes of fruits and spices also easily picked up. Sweet and fruity taste, wheat qualitiy and some spices in the finish. Not a fan of this style, but pretty decent.
