COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst. Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full. First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste. A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

UPDATED: APR 23, 2013 Nice white head and hazy orange/yellow colour. Smells little spicey and maybe orange. Taste is sweet/sout, well balanced, with evident wheat taste. Very dry finish. It’s different than most of weizen, because I did’t taste the banana note, not really, but maybe also for this is a very interesting and particular weizen. The finish is very dry. Carbonation is perfect. Very good beer.

Sweetshop aroma, peardrop, floral, and lots of banana, touch of clove. White head, hazy golden body. Grainy, bready, slightyly acidic, delicate bitterness. Intense and fine effervescence. Not an enduring aftertaste, but pleases on many other fronts.

L0484 Bottle.
Glass: Weizen.
Appearance: Tall and pillowy white head sits on a hazy golden body.
Aroma: A bit of lemon, chalky malts, a dash of vanilla and a hint of phenols. Aroma is mild but pleasant.
Taste: Flavor is prominent vanilla with a hint of banana and lemon. Slightly chalky and a bit effervescent.
Palate: Lacking some carbonation, chewy medium bodied.
Overall: A nice weissbier, though lacking in some ways. Perhaps it’s a bit past its prime. I’ll have to try again fresher.

Pours a hazy golden color topped with a very nice white frothy head. Wheaty aroma, notes of fruits and spices also easily picked up. Sweet and fruity taste, wheat qualitiy and some spices in the finish. Not a fan of this style, but pretty decent.

Piana biała, ale nie jak po wizirze. Średnio pęcherzykowa, szybko opada. Kolor jasno miodowy. Piwo niefiltrowane, jednolicie zmętnione. Aromat bananowy, z odrobiną miodu, czuć pszenicę i drożdże. Naprawdę bogaty. Delikatnie oleiste, goryczka słaba, lekko cytrusowe. Pijalne. Odczucie w ustach: niestety, średnie, kwestia zbyt dużego wysycenia, ma się wrażenie, że to oranżada z drobnymi, atakującymi wściekle bąbelkami. Ogólne wrażenie jednak bardzo pozytywne.

Though it looked like a nice blonde, there was something metallic and bubbly on the end of the beer that entirely ruined the citrus head.

Tester, Erzbierschof-Tab. Sehr helles Weizen. Nur wenig Banane, aber Gewürze. Angenehm leichtes, süffiges Bier. Malzig süss, fast keine Säure. Fein.
