Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
The appearance is typical of the style. Straw yellow in color with a dense, white head. Fantastic aroma with banana, clove, spices, wheat. Refreshing flavor. Light and soft on the palate. Poundable. Superb balance. I would love to try this side by side with Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, as these are without question the two best examples of a German hefeweizen I have ever had. Highly recommended.

Originally had this on tap at the kloster, but I bought a bottle afterward to confirm my suspicions - this is the best Hefeweizen I’ve ever had. Pours bright, hazy gold with a pillowy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of lemon peel, yeast, fruity esters, slight banana, clove, and bubblegum. Taste is fairly dry, very crisp, and the wheat is distinct. Totally appropriate carbonation and body. Worth the hike.

Smells great. Bubblegum and banana. Amazing colour - cloudy pale yellowy with a white fluffy head - stays till the end. Good carbonation. Tastes lovely. A great hefeweizen.

Cloudy yellow/orange with a fluffy light tan head. Beautiful yeast, fresh wheat, with orange, lemon, a hint of clove, and banana in the aroma. Most interesting for me is the abundant ’pear bubblegum’ note. Lightly sweet, but has a faint lemon tartness to balance everything perfectly. Medium light body, active but creamy carb, with just a whisper of hop bitterness in the finish. Fantastic, old-school, German hefe. Definitely one of my favorites.

Tap @ Andechs am Dom, Munich. Nice glowing orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Nice banana, good clove, a little spicy aroma. Quite nice citrusy, delicious banana, clove, somewhat spicy wheat flavor. Really a nice Hefeweizen.

Draft at The Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a cloudy light orange colour with a big, fluffy white head. Full aroma of bananas, cloves and other spices. Citrus and juicy fruit flavours with yeasty notes. Pleasant and balanced palate of wheat, dry grains and grass with lingering fruity sweetness. A fantastic example of the style.
