22oz bottle. Pours an orangish color with a big off white head. Aroma of hops, apricot, orange, and caramel malt. Taste of resiny hops, citrus and spices. Flavor is semi bitter with a big hop overtone. Finishes with a sharp astringent hop bite in the end.

22 oz bottle via Hagen. Pours a semi hazy copper with a large beige head, leaves a moderate amount of lace as it comes down. Nose is fruity esters, pineapple, apricot, orange. Tastes like it smells with some pine and orange peel in the aftertaste. A bit metallic in the finish. Body is medium/full. Carbonation is moderate. This is quite average.

22oz bottle purchased at Jungle Jim’s. Pours clear amber with a medium tan head. Citrus aroma with lots of sweet malt and a bit of spice. Cereal malt flavor up front with some citrus hops and a bitter finish.

Bomber pours a dirty, murky, orange/brown body with a medium ecru head. Aroma is grassy and grapefruity citrus. Medium body and carbonation with a hop oil bite. Taste has an edgy bitter hoppiness, with a pronounced grassuness and some citrus rind. Some meaty caramel emerges midway, as does some pink grapefruit sweetness. Finishes grassy and grainy. Pretty good, but i was hoping for better in an anniversary beer.

My wife said the aroma contains notes of soy sauce and yeast; I noted a lot of rich breadiness and dough. She didn’t taste, but I did: It is definitely earthy, with quite a salty kick, and some hops, but the hops are hiding - a lot of emphasis was on the malts, apparently. Overall, it’s good, tasty, interesting, and quite the ABV.

Amber color with a moderate cream colored head. Aromas are hop centric with pine and a bit of apricot. Full feel. Pale malts, and a earthy hops in the flavors. Bitterness continues to build throughout the experience. I gets a bit to much by the end and I start to beg for a reprieve. A bitter hopshead brew.

Poured from 22 oz., Amber with a golden hue, small off white head. Nice balance of hops and malt, citrus and pine, with hints of caramel. Not too bad, but it is the 20th anniversary and a year and a half later. Not sure if this got better with age.

Bomber from Once Upon a Vine, Richmond. Nice deep amber pour, fuzzy and somewhat cloudy. Decent head and sticky retention. There’s some grain and earthiness to the aroma, and a bready quality that suggests this might be better enjoyed when far younger. Still, take it when you can get it, right? Palate is decent, though not as full as I’d like. Crystal malts and sweet caramel, with a slightly too harsh finish owing to hops on the downside. At this point, I reckon it’s more like a moderately aged American strong ale. Decently enjoyable.
