In short: A good good typical IIPA with a slight malt backbone deficiency.
How: Bottle 22oz, thanks to hapjydeuce, big thanks to you Justin!
The look: Clear golden copper body with a small off-white head
In long: Nose of dried fruits (pineapples, citrus, grapefruits). The beer is malted enough for an excellent IPA but not quite enough for an Imperial IPA. The caramelized malts backbone is not quite thick enough and somehow the beer feels a bit sugary (white sugar). the alcohol is slightly apparent. Lots of fruity flavours but no fresh/juicy fruits sensation, this one is all about sweet dried fruits flavours. Sharp bitterness but somehow not enough. The beer is tasty, very hoppy and rathe aggressive yet it felt unbalanced on both side. All in all this is a very pleasant tasty beer despite its shortcomings. A good 20 year old anniversary beer, another 1 year and it will legally be allowed to drink itself.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light amber color with a large creamy off white head that leaves significant lacing. The aroma is big on the citrus and piney hops with a decent caramel malt notes as well. This one has a strong caramel malt component along with quite a bit of bitterness in the finish. The citrus in the aroma is not as noticable in the flavor. A little on the sticky side. Along side the best this would not hold up, but it is a very good beer in its own right.

I thought there was a hop shortage. Excellent hop bomb. Not to bitter with huge amounts of hops. Smell is awesome, but has odd bitter aftertaste.

So I didn’t really get this one...and definitely wouldn’t put it in the IIPA category. Subtle aroma that is mostly sweet malt and Bermuda grass. Bitterness and ponderosa pine are the most distinguishable flavors but it’s definitely missing the "juicy". Decent carbonation and sticks to the palate.

Bottles from i forget who, bm me. Light to medium amber, nice fluffy off white head. Decent citrus/tropical combo up front, huge malt backbone. Flavor is caramel dominated through and through. Some lingering bitterness, other than that not much for hop character. Borderline cloying at times.

Bottle at home - tasting. Clear golden - offwhite head. High hoppy, knækbrød, resin, pineapples, grapefruit, sweetness, very light maltyness. Nice hoppy.

Started to get my ass kicked on this beer, ordered late in the drinking evening. I took it slow. The 8.7 feels like 12%. Super malty. Intense. They went a little overboard with this one. Good, but a bit too much.

I’m not generally a huge Anderson Valley fan, but this is a really nice beer. Big caramel malt notes up front with lots of floral hop in the finish. It’s a very balanced, standard california ipa--doesn’t necessarily go out on a limb, but nicely done.
