Tap at CAH. Pours a hazy orange with lots of golden notes and a small creamy off white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, orange and floral hops. Various fruity notes with some bready and caramel malt to balance. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, really nice and hoppy. Malt backbone present with some dough, caramel, grains and cereal. Medium hop bitterness.

Pours a fairly thick slightly dark copper. Aroma is a bit strange- some vanilla, some oak, caramel malt, some slight citrus and some rice-wine notes. Flavor also contains that rice-wine and some subtle grapefruit in the back that is actually quite nice. Kinda could see this being a Hitachino brew. Fairly unique at the very least, but certainly not one of my favorite doubles. Creamy palate.

Pours deep amber into a tulip. Bright white head recedes leaving no lacing. Grapefruit and pine aromas. Sweet caramel and vanilla upfront turning to an alcohol and resin lasting finish.

From a bomber, drank right after Pliny the Younger. This was a joke compared to that beers. Skunky, muddled, trashy tasting hops, with a milky and gross citrus note. Big, ugly malt notes show up, and the hop profile is way off.

On tap at Sunset Grill and Tap. Body is a nice dark golden color with a tall pure white head. Aromas of meaty citrus fruit and stale cereal or dust dominate. The taste has about 5 initial seconds of pleasant hoppy citrus notes that quickly fade into some gross stale maltiness. By the time each mouthful finishes going down I taste leftover pasta burps and sour milk. Okay, maybe the not so bad aspects of those things, but old dry malty notes that sour with the trailing hops. Really not a fan.

2009 Bottle - Pours orange with a large off white head...aroma is sweet fruits, pine resin, yeast...flavour is bold, hops are potent but one dimensional...actually ends bittersweet, weird balance that is sweet and savory...still getting my head around this one...

Sweet canalope and mild pine aroma. A medium English Tea color with a copper hue. Strong English Tea flavor with a tangerine and canalope hop taste. Medium to strong bodied and lively crisp carbonation with an alcohol feel. If the strong English Tea flavor can be tolerated this is a hophead delight.

Bomber. Pours fairly clear bmedium copper with an ok head. Aroma is earthy and tea-like hops, slight floral character and slight citrus- malt comes through a bit too much- crackery and light stale caramel. Sweet light crystla mlats, some caramel, toast, and earth- with ok citrus hops, light pine, herbal and a bit solvent-like- bitterness in the end is just ok and has a medium body in the end. Kinda sucks if you drink the PTY before this- nothing will stand up I guess. But this still wasn’t good.
