AmEricanbrew (824), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA May 15, 2008 Glowing orange amber with a fleeting head. Fairly mild but nice floral and spicy hop aroma. Smooth medium body. Nicely balanced flavors of caramel malt with bittersweet floral and citrusy hops. A nice PNW style Imperial IPA here.
bager (1900), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden coloured with an offwhite head. Somewhat hoppy with notes of dry bread, raisins, pineapples, grapefruit, very light maltyness. Nice hoppyness.
MaltOMeal (237), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Jul 20, 2008 bomber shared thanks to zinister. Pours a clear orange with a thin whiite head. Nose is of orange citrus. Taste is of orange rind, but seems a bit artificial. Mouthfeel is medium and bitter finish. BeerIndustry98 (6), , California, USA does not count Jul 20, 2008 Amber color with a pear, dry hop aroma. Alcohol is very prevelant like most Imperial IPA’s. A little unbalanced, dry, hoppy, medicinal taste and dry finish. Bites at first but mellows and becomes much more drinkable as it gets warmer. Medicinal taste dissipates and the sweetness emerges. I would hold onto this for when the climate gets a bit cooler and not in July. GregClow (2299), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 Two bottles shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc, mabel & tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry & blankboy. Deep orange with a small off-white head. Solidly hopped aroma and flavour - lots of orange zest, a bit of pine resin - with just enough malt to keep it under control. Long, well-bittered finish. Medium bodied. Quite enjoyable. Lowe1983 (730), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops and caramel malts. Flavor is pretty strong of the citrus and pine hops. Finishes bitter with a lingering flavor. Wasn’t quite as strong as I was hoping.
