I love IPAs, but they are sometimes so over hopped I can’t get past the first sip without sneezing or furrowing my brow in bitter, aromatic surprise. This beer is a stellar balance of flavor, finish, and feel.

WOW davvero una imperial ipa con i controcazzi! Aromatica molto molto saporita, complessa, ti lascia un retrogusto buonissimo tra l’amaro il dolce dei malti. Bella anche da vedere! Divina!

I thought there was a hop shortage. Excellent hop bomb. Not to bitter with huge amounts of hops. Smell is awesome, but has odd bitter aftertaste.

I really enjoyed this beer, seemed really well balanced, and very smooth for the strength. I bought four more.

Golden in color with a lasting head. Smells of sweet caramel malts and citrus peel. Full nectar with creamy carbonation. Mildly sweet with a surprisingly balanced hop component. Theres a freshness about this that is very appealing. I’m also getting a bit of peach and nectarine sautee’d in butter. Excellent finish. Dangerously drinkable. Earlier Rating: 2/18/2009 Total Score: 3.2 Pours golden with a bit of amber. A lofty head lingers like cobwebs in a tool shed. Aromas of citrus rind yet mild. Full nectar with almost no effers. Things flat. This really takes away as this brew is on the sweet side of the malt spectrum. I’m picking up on a celery plug nuance that also discourages. Tough hopsy switchblades cut through the fat and scar the palate. The finish lingers with caramel and a citrus acid burn.

The classic USIPA piny nose, citrus fruit. Thick caramalt body, with a beautiful hop profile of pine, citrus and white pepper. Sweetness balances bitterness perfectly. One of the best balanced IIPA’s I’ve had.
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 paytoplay (146) - , California, USA - JUL 10, 2008
What 1st strikes you is the color. Like amber from ancient tree sap. Almost ruby. Aroma is ok, woody and dark hops. The flavor is where this beer really impressed me. Layers of stuff going on, intense, balanced and dense with weight and complexity to it that I haven’t experienced in any other recent Imperial IPA’s. My rating is higher than most but I think this beer needed some time to come around and put on weight, much like a wine. Will have to get more and try one in a year and see if it continues to get better.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bmeup (418) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - OCT 29, 2010
Golden orange in colour. Perfumed aromas of pine, citrus and caramel. Detecting a lot of different hop characters. Quite thick in body and medium carbonation but a great balance. Really classy DIPA.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 gururyan (363) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Pours a clear orange gold, beautiful color... I would paint my walls this hue. Very heady, smells a little citrusy. Tastes great, very well rounded with good hide of the abv.
