Bright amber color with a beige head that’s decent. Rather full bodied with almost creamy carbonation. Flavor is probably light caramel which is completely overwhelmed by floral, pine and citrus hop. There is a fair balance in the finish, a little sweetness and a lot of hop. Seems fair to me, anyway. A smooth ale with something that should satisfy most HHs. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2009 My Bottom Line:
A veritable hop cornucopia is found within this generous Double IPA, sending waves of citrusy, resinous, floral and sandy flavors onto supporting biscuity malts. This does not stand out in its style family, but it does everything well and is a most suitable hop fix.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the misty golden amber.
-The flavor profile is strangely more talkative than the aroma.
-There is a little caramel sweetness throughout that helps to balance out the hop dosage.
-The resinous hop bitterness is firm and pleasant.
-The mouthfeel is very healthy, and the carbonation smooth, making for effortless yet nutritious drinking.

(3+) Decent amount of hops in the aroma, clementines, citrus seeds. (7+) Pleasant hoppy bitterness throughout, light resin and a melange of mild citrus flavours. (7+) Smooth average palate. Quite drinkable, rather pleasant. Still, I’d like a bit more oomph to the citrus and hops to take it up a notch. Bottle shared by Blankboy and HogTownHarry

Very bright fresh hoppy aroma. Rich spicy/grassy hoppiness that is loaded with tangerine citrus juiciness. Flavour is a bit berryish with a lightly honeyish malt flavour. Bright orange flavour with a bit of lingering resinousness. Fairly nice. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Hops in the aroma are mostly of pine. Some alcohol comes through as well. Flavor is earthy pine, sweet, with a smooth bitterness. Pretty decent. adrian910ss (1445), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Draft at Craft Ale House. Poured deep golden with dark straw edges and off-white head. Nose was heavy tangerine, pineapple, some juicy hops, mild breadiness. Palate was medium heft, with hefty tropical fruity hops, but I noted a lack of malt bill that served to slightly unbalance this one. I had this after a Green Flash IPA, and the Green Flash blew it away. Then again, Green Flash IPA blows away most IPAs, so that’s not surprising. A good, but not great beer.
