| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2008 This is a beer that I got to admit that I would have loved when I first started drinking IPAs. It is a beefed up version of Hop Ottin. Very bitter, C hops in their glory. Gold color, crisp and translucent. I still love the the citus aroma from this one, like many IPA’s. The palate is totally dominated by the hops - this is a real hop brute. Its probably too bad that they didn’t make this beer four or five years ago, it would have really stood out, now it is one of a dozen or so with a very similar profile. Hops heads will gather around it, most others will realize they had this beer before. TaktikMTL (2798), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

Nose of amarillo and chinook, sharp bitter rind and melon notes along with....cheddar? Flavor is sweet, plenty of malt, light bitterness and a cloying mouthfeel. Piney finish. Decent, too sweet though. jimbowood (983), Athens, Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2009 My wife said the aroma contains notes of soy sauce and yeast; I noted a lot of rich breadiness and dough. She didn’t taste, but I did: It is definitely earthy, with quite a salty kick, and some hops, but the hops are hiding - a lot of emphasis was on the malts, apparently. Overall, it’s good, tasty, interesting, and quite the ABV.
