16 ounce sample on tap at the Davis Graduate. Aroma has lots of sweet, bourbony notes. Light caramel is also in there with some buttery diacetyl notes. Tons of diacetyl in this as time goes on. Mildly hazy brown body with a small weak off-white head. Starts a little sweet before this becomes a little caramelly. Plenty of bourbon woodiness in the middle with a slight tart astringency. Finishes with copious amounts of heavy butterscotch and diacetyl. Butter bomb. Flawed.

Sample at the brewery. Who the hell entered this as a Belgian ale? This obviously is an ASA. Anyway... orange copperish pour, sticky off-white head. Sticky hops, citrus, caramel, toffee, dried fruit, brown sugar sweetness, and a controlled bourbon and oak. Nicely balanced and complex.

Sampled at the brew house. One of their new barrel aged brews. The flavor is full of bourbon goodness and also has hints of their Boont. Great brew, worth the trip to their brewhouse.
