COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first Bahl Hornin’ beer was designed to pay tribute to our flagship beer. The recipe is actually the same as regular Boont Amber, just more of every ingredient packed into the same volume- double the hops, double the malts, and double the intensity. What we ended up with is a bigger amber ale that is velvet-smooth, robust and complex: sweet hints of medjool dates, prunes, golden raisins, and toasted marshmallows are balanced to perfection with darker notes of licorice, leather, and tobacco. The flavor is full-bodied to say the least; the moderate and balanced bitterness of the clean, noble hop flavor gives way to malty sweetness without delay. From its burnt-toffee appearance to its lingering complexity of bitter sweetness, this brew is sure to impress the most sophisticated of palates.

On tap at Commercial Tap House on 01/17/2011. Clear amber body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet caramel and light fruity aroma with slight woody notes. Caramel, toasty malt and fruit flavor with a mild bitter finish with woody hints. Medium body with moderate

On tap at beer temple. Dark amber body with thin head. Nose is nice and hoppy. Taste syrupy sweet and amber. Really clean and sweet. Well done.

Came recommended by Mane Liquor as one of the best beers in store. I was dubious however it lived up to the recommendation despite being poured from a can! I thought it was great, smoky amber ale which I would happily drink again and again.

Copper with creamy white head and lace. Sweet caramel and a hinto abv. Super sweet caramel malt, abv, and a medium bitter finish. Medium/full bodied with good carbonation. Pretty nice beer.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop and bread aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a solid bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid complex beer.

tap at falling rock. Pours a dark amber color with minimal head. Aroma of molasses, caramel, pine sap, resin. Big full bodied, syrupy feel with notes of cherries dipped in caramel, slightly medicinal, sweet molasses, subtle bitterness although its really all about the malts. I thought for 9% it was pretty smooth. An interesting beer worth a try, although it didn’t blow me away or anything.

notalush (3740) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 5, 2011
Tap at Falling Rock - clear amber - off white head - overpowering sugary sweetness up front, wit some charred sugars as well - a bit of toasted grains and doughiness throug the middle - ends with some moderately stale hoppiness - bitterness is almost medicinal - sugar sweetness sticks around long into the finish - seriously disappointing.

marcus (4047) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 16, 2011
On tap at The Graduate. Pours dark brown with a decent beige head and a smoky fruity aroma. There is a slightly sweet burnt malt flavor with a dry finish. Not as good as the classic Boont Amber.

First of all, this should be classified as an American Strong Ale. 5 ounce on tap at the Davis Graduate. The aroma is a little floral before I detect some rubbery notes and maybe some diacetyl. Lightly vinous. Not so quaffable. Transparent ruby amber body with a small, quickly dissipating off-white head. Starts sweet, sticky with caramel flavors and light roastiness in he middle. This is followed by by scant buttery diacetyl. Finishes with some floral and herbal hop bitterness. Forgettable.
