3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location pours black in color with a small off-white head that leavers some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light roasted grains with some pine and grapefruit and a hint of chocolate. Taste is a roasted grain and pine, grapefruit hop bitterness balanced nicely with a light chocolate and malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. A well done black IPA that I really enjoyed tasting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that leaves lots of lacing up the glass. Aroma of pine, spruce, wood, roasted malts and a light bit of chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, pine, resin, spruce, roasted malts and a balanced bitterness throughout. Medium bodied ipa that shows excellent roast and malt character while balancing hop bitterness and flavor as well.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap: black-brown with small off-white head. Piney roast grain nose with a little smoke. Flavor starts with bitter pine and grapefruit leading into a dark roasted, charred graininess. Nice overall hoppy bitterness with an okay smoky grain note. I could drink more of this beer.

16oz on tap at the Moerlein Lager House. Labeled as 6.5% ABV. Black color. Thin off-white / khaki head, with good retention. Earthy hop nose, lightly spicy, some chocolate. Nice toasty chocolatey malt profile. Good lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, soft carbonation. Kind of a sticky, lingering finish. Good lace. Good light bitter taste, light herbal spiciness, moderate sweetness. Nice black IPA.
