Deep and dark as a starless night, this beer is dominated by a pronounced hop aroma of pine and spruce, with subdued notes of fresh cut wood and special herbs. The flavor is characterized by a clean hop taste with a subtle dry roasted malt touch in the background. Draft only.

Tap at Papago. Pours a hazy near black color with a foamy tan head. Aroma of pine and soapy hops, roasted malt and wood. Flavor starts slightly sweet and roasty and gives away to the lightly bitter hops. A decent brew.

Had this draft beer during the 7/4 beer tour 2014 at Hollywood Gardens/Brixton. Nice looking dark beer. Smell is dull b/o of your favorite mate. Yes, dark attributes carry over to the flavors. Definitely has lots of IPA for a backbone. Yes, typical big dull medical black ipa finish. Lasts & lasts well after the session.

Drought. Dark brown with tan spongy head, caramel-roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, caramel-nuts taste, thon body, longish finish with bitter aftertaste. Interesting but not special.

Tap at Heneins. Very dark brown with tan head and lace. Fresh green dank aroma. Roasted coffee and mild fruity sweetness with fresh hoppy piney herbal dry finish, medium light. Excellent.

On tap at Busy Bee, Raleigh, NC. Dark brown, almost black, pour with a dense khaki head. Aroma of roses and wet grass. Taste is of light citrus peel, pine, and rich cocoa. Finish is clean with not too much hop bitterness or bitterness from the roasted malt. An above average black IPA.

Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - on tap. Dark black pour, nice thick khaki colored head with decent lace. Aroma has some fresh dirt, a hint of chocolate. Flavor brings some bittersweet citrus, some licorice notes, a touch of chocolate, topsoil in the back end. Nice chalky mf. Enjoyable while browsing for take homes.

Pours an opaque brownish black on tap with fluffy tan head that leaves great lace. Aroma is a nice balance of roast, chocolate, and piney hops. Taste follows, dry and bitter, but the roast opens up more as it warms up. Very nice balance, good carbonation, better than I was expecting.

Dry and bitter first sip. Black pour from draft at emporium. Sticky off white head. Sweet yet watery aroma. Slight nutty and pretty hoppy. Descent.
