Burnish gold hue with a persistent, rocky white head. Floral, spicy aroma redolent of lilacs, white pepper and Bartlett pears with undertones of blueberry honey and roses. A pleasant balance of crisp bitterness with a clean malt profile adorned spicy, herbal hop flavors lasting into a dry refreshing finish.

Rating #1043 - March 27, 2014 - @avbc tap takeover @revolutionYEG - Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with hoppy overtones, spicy earthy hops, toasted malt. Taste is more of the same, dry hops and paleish malts dominating the flavour, with a hint of sweetness. Finish is dry, but balanced and satisfying. Delicious.

Pours golden reddish with a rocky white head. Excellent cling. Aromas of cut grass, butterscotch and bitter citrus. Flavors are bitter citrus, floral and nutty. Finishes with bitter grapefruit and a long, long, lingering hop burn. Crisp mouthfeel, yet also a bit syrupy. This is a different IPA, but very nice. I would have this one again.

Hazy amber pour with a loose white head. Light caramel, toffee, citrus, and citrus pith notes in the nose. Medium bodied with a good balance between the hops and the malt. Caramel and citrus dominate the flavor profile. Finishes towards the malt side. A decent bitter, but not really what I would consider an IPA.

On-tap, as “Anderson Valley Spring Horning IPA” at Roundhouse Taproom in SoHo, Central.

Clear amber honey colour with no yeast sediments; One finger head and crumpety off-white foam which lasted for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing and slight carbonation; Quite fragrant aroma of moderate ale malt, with strong grapefruit, strong lemon, floral, honey, pine, biscuit, strong hops and sharp grass; Mid to strong sweet taste of ale malt, with strong grapefruit zest, honey, flower, strong pine, biscuits, strong yeast, strong bitter hops and sharp grass; Mid to light body. Oily and hoppy palate; Mouth feel is moderate maltyness, a bit watery. Quite strong sweetness, overall it’s citrusy hop-dominated with sharp but nice bitterness, very piney and oily even in draft. Good!... Hoppiness is slightly dull grapefruit and floral nose. Very sharp citrus zest, good floral, pine and ooze in taste. High bitterness with fresh hops for a lasting strong bitter finish; Dry after taste. Oily and very hoppy to mouth.

Comments: Taste like a cross between English IPA and West Coast IPA, with conservative grapefruits paired with sharp and tasty bitter hops, yet very expressive even in a quite watery draft. I may re-rate it again in bottle to test its wholesomeness. Still a nice one.

thin ioff-white head of fine bubbles and light carbonation. Weak aroma with a bit of lemon grass, soft malts and some grains. Color is a cloudy golden orange. Flavor is moderate hops bitterness with some tea leaves, light grapefruit, mild malts and some dryness. Lingering dry bitterness that is a bit harsh. No real alcohol presence in the flavor. An ok IPA.
