Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout

12oz bottle. A well made oatmeal stout with sweet chocolate flavors coming through.

6-pack from Total WIne, River Edge, NJ...bottle pours black, tan head...smell of roasted malt, dark fruits, sweet chocolate...taste is much of the same...a bit too sweet for my taste.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown with a light tan head. Flavors are light prune, some toasted malt. Also a hint of a hop bitterness. Solid oatmeal stout.

Black w/ brownish red highlight, slightly transparent, brown thick non lasting top. Smells of dark choco, cherries, dark coffee, bananas, and smoke. Tastes of strong choco, coffee, roasted nuts, light bitter midpoint, long smokey conclusion. Long lasting taste. A good beer.

Aroma of coffee, ripe grains and oats. Black pour with mocha head, very fluffy. Initial flavor has some coffee and light chocolate, followed by some ripe plum and brown sugar complexities. Nice and creamy, with a slightly alcoholic finish. Yeah!

Dark brown with a thick light brown head. Nose is wonderful roasted malt and oat with a kind of semi-sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor is almost all roasted oat until you get to the finish which is a complex blend of roasted oat, chocolate, and coffee. Very surprised by this beer.

From bomber, pours opaque darkest brown with brown fading head. Roasty and somewhat hoppy aroma leads to roasty and bittersweet cocoa nubs flavors harmonized with hops, residual sugars from malt and alcohol warmth. Body is somewhat oily, finish is lasting.
