Mar 20, 2009 Aroma of coffee, ripe grains and oats. Black pour with mocha head, very fluffy. Initial flavor has some coffee and light chocolate, followed by some ripe plum and brown sugar complexities. Nice and creamy, with a slightly alcoholic finish. Yeah!

Mar 19, 2009 Dark brown with a thick light brown head. Nose is wonderful roasted malt and oat with a kind of semi-sweet chocolate aroma. Flavor is almost all roasted oat until you get to the finish which is a complex blend of roasted oat, chocolate, and coffee. Very surprised by this beer.

Mar 16, 2009 From bomber, pours opaque darkest brown with brown fading head. Roasty and somewhat hoppy aroma leads to roasty and bittersweet cocoa nubs flavors harmonized with hops, residual sugars from malt and alcohol warmth. Body is somewhat oily, finish is lasting.

Mar 10, 2009 Pours a thick oily black with a medium head. Aroma is a little weak for a stout, mostly nutty. Flavor is also nutty, but also leathery, and smoky. A little espresso is also present. Mouthfeel is oily, a little too much carbonation in the end. Overall, very good.

Mar 4, 2009 7-15-08. 12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Smells of chocolate and malt. Tastes of cereal grain, roasted coffee, nuts,sweet molasses, and raisins. Aftertaste is sweet. Very nice.

Mar 3, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a very dark chestnut brown color with a 2-finger head. Good head retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sweet, roasted malts with some lactic and chocolate notes. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts and a fruity finish. Medium bodied and smooth. Very nice.

Mar 2, 2009 Pours black with 1/2" tan/brown head. Aroma is of fruit and chocolate. Taste is of chocolate, coffee, oats and some currant/cherries . Nice velvety mouthfeel. Slightly bitter finish. This is a well made oatmeal stout.

Mar 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black with a nice brown head. The head doesn’t stick around long and doesn’t leave much lacing. The nose is light, having some roasted malt and oats. Medium carbonation with a nice rich and oily mouthfeel. Definite coffee and oat notes on the palate along with some brown sugar and maybe a hint of smoke. Just a little bitterness helps round things out. Pretty clean finish. Overall a very good stout!
