Pours a rich robust deep dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is subtle, sweet and roasty. Smooth, mild and chocolatey body has some molasses and a nice hop balance. A good oatmeal stout.

12oz Bottle. Pours very black with a small dark tan head. Aroma roasty chocolate milk and coffee mix, also an earthy oatmeal hint. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate chips, and a sweet start then a bitter very full finish. Mouth feel is creamy, heavy, very full, and swallow heavy also. Very Good.

Thaks to elnadeau for sharing. Pours a nice black with a tan head that quickly vanishes. The nose is a bit roasty, w/ some oatmeal in it. The flavors are roasty, toasty with a bitter finish. I got some notes of chocolate & caramel. This was pretty well done.

Pours black with tan head of nice course stout bubbles. Great lacing. Aroma is coffee, caramel, chocolate. Mouthfeel nice with course carbonation, light body for a stout. Not very sweet, but complex and a very nice drink; coffee, chocolate, some caramel and toastiness. Dry, bitter finish with fair duration. I enjoyed drinking these bottles.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2008 [bottle] Pours a dark black with slight traces of red near the edges and a very quickly disappearing tan head. Rich malty nose with a slight roasted espresso hint. Has a roasted malt taste at the beginning that gives way to a slightly burnt and smoky bitter finish. Very smooth mouthfeel. MarkR comes through with another beauty.

On Tap: Opaque black. Tan head, nose of malt and some burnt toast. Flavor profile starts very malty and turns slightly burnt toast bitter during the after taste, which I think is rather unusual for the style, lots of roast. Very creamy, especially on tap.

Big, thick, cocoa brown head, and a color as black as the night. Aromas of chocolate, and espresso. Texture and mouthfeel are ideal for this style, one of my favorites: luscious, rich, and wonderfully roasty! Dark and bitter finish, but alive with hoppiness. Excellent balance, smooth and tasty, absolutely delicious. Beautiful and rewarding finish that goes on and on... This one is my #3 American oatmeal stout, behind Rogue and Bell's. Good job, AV!

This creamy aromatic full bodied stout is delicious. Recommend this on a cold wintery day. Suitable for substituting for some warm oatmeal. Great warm finish and oatmeal following. Tops.

Pours super dark, with a medium tan head. Aromas of roasty malt, coffee, and slight prunes. Finishes smooth, slightly sweet, with a creamy, roasty maltiness, and some port and cognac at the finish. Somewhat light in mouthfeel. A great oatmeal stout.
